Biographical Profile The Fairweathers are Australia's most known archery family. Because Simon started doing archery, Kate got influenced and started doing archery. Kate explains that archery started making her family do more activities together. Simon's mother and father started doing archery to make his two children continue doing archery.
Than they started competing in their backyard to see who will do the washing, clean the house ect. Than their backyard competitions started to get vicious they would have team tournaments with Simon and his mother verses Kate and her dad or vice-versa.
Then Simon and Kate became more serious and started to practice for competitions, which was made difficult by the death of their first coach Ros Johns. At this time they had trouble because they both relied on each other for coaching advice. These problems have died away since they started going to the Australian Institute Of Sport with their coach Ki Sik Lee who is among the top archery coaches in the world.
They both are happy with their knew coach. Simon is Australia's most experienced archer for he has been doing archery for over ten years. Kate has done archery for around ten years too. Both Simon and Kate are extremely good. They both put their limited time to good use by practising and having tournaments. So I hope we will see some Olympic gold medals for them.
