This is my information on the author Robin Klein

Robin Klein Robin Klein was born in Kempsey, New South Wales, one of nine children. She left school at fifteen and worked as a tea lady, telephonist, bookshop assistant, library assistant, nurse and craft worker. She wrote her first book in 1978 at the age of forty-two whilst working part-time to support her children. It was only in 1981 when she won her first prize and a Literature grant that she was able to start writing full-time. Since then she has made herself as one of the most productive and highly valued writers for children both in her country, Australia that is and overseas. Robin Klein won the 1989 Australian Human Rights Award for Literature and the 1990, Australian Children's Book of the Year Award for Older Readers for Came Back To Show You I Could Fly.
