Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8x8 inch pan with pan spray. 2. Mix well together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add and stir in milk, applesauce, and vanilla. Pour into pan. 3. Mix and sprinkle the brown sugar and cocoa powder. SLOWLY pour over top the VERY HOT WATER. 4. Bake for 45 minutes. 5. Now, I have no idea how you get it out of the pan. I assume you let it cool a bit then invert over a plate. Who knows?
