* Exported from MasterCook * Jammin' Almond Bars Recipe By :Esther Brody Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : new recipe Regular Sweet Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Base: 1 3/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt Topping: 3/4 cup raspberry jam -- seedless, if possible 1/2 cup chopped almonds -- coarsely chopped Preheat oven to 375° F. Base: In a bowl mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Add butter and mix until combined. Set aside one-third and press remainder into a greased 9-inch square cake pan. Topping: Stir jam until smooth and spread evenly over base. In a bowl mix together almonds and reserved crumb mixture. Sprinkle over jam layer, pressing down lightly. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Place pan on a rack to cool completely, then cut into bars.
