Music G
Grinning like an undertaker
GACKT - Mizerable [DVD18/1999] 4/5=The first mini-album for the fabulous Gackt after he departed from Malice Mizer and took a break.
GACKT - Mars [DVD18/2000] 8/10=It's difficult to stylistically pinpoint Gackt, aside from looking pretty he is a very diverse musician, his solo work is about as diverse as Malice Mizer. Theatric, but often rocking and very dramatic.
GACKT - Rebirth [DVD18/2001] 9/10=One of the most original JPOP artists ever returns with a totally kickass album, some of the tunes here capture that 'epic' vocal pop feeling of his Berserk OP.
GACKT - Moon [DVD18/2002] 7/10=Like his previous records, this is all over the place, unfortunately it's not as good, but still has strong songs.
GACKT - Crescent [DVD18/2003] 9/10=Fortunately Gackt returns to form instead of continuing a downward spiral, this record is by every means the peer of Rebirth, it is wondrous, diverse, heavy, theatric, and beautiful.
GACKT - The Sixth Day: Single Collection [DVD18/2004] 4/5=A great fan package, a lot of the tunes are re-arranged and some have not appeared before at least not in these forms.
GACKT - The Seventh Night: Unplugged [DVD18/2004] 4/5=Sort of an aside to The Sixth Day, this features some acoustic performances of his songs with orchestration. Pretty classy fan package.
GACKT - Love Letter [DVD18/2005] 5/10=It's my least favorite Gackt record, the last part of a planned pseudo-trilogy, he can only maintain so much quality before the lack of rocking out begins to bore me here. Too much acoustic.
GACKT - Diabolos [DVD18/2005] 6/10=It's certainly better than Love Letter, but I was a little dumbfounded with this. A few of the tunes are great, but the rest is pretty mediocre. The worst of his 'rock' albums, he's watering down.
GACKT - Redemption [DVD18/2006] 2/3=Promising single for his upcoming album.
GACKT - 0079-0088 [DVD135/2007] 8/10=Gackt covering Gundam theme songs in a tribute to the Gundam creator sound like fun? Well, it is...
GACKT - Returner [DVD135/2007] 3/3=The song is fucking amazing, the videos are quite good too, especially the live one from Red&Blue festival. The live tunes are quite nice as well. Great single, amazing song.
GALGERAS - Uwer te Ere [DVD108/2002] 2/5=2nd demo from the Dutch maniac, trust me when I say fucking skip this shit and head straight for Booswitcherik which will knock the Christeeth out of your dirty pussy mouth.
GALGERAS - Booswitcherij [CD/2005] 10/10=Fucking brilliant black metal out of Holland, totally primal and simple and fucking evil, FUCKING EVIL I SAY. Gwydion is also a member of Fluisterwoud.
GALNERYUS - The Flag of Punishment [CD/2003] 7/10=Pretty much flawless Japanese power metal, with superb musicianship. But as fluent as this is, it is simply not all that memorable in the songwriting department.
GALNERYUS - Advance to the Fall [CD/2005] 6/10=Once again, Galneryus deliver a pretty solid slab of traditional symphonic power metal, and the songs are even more forgettable than the previous album.
GALNERYUS - Beyond the End of Despair [CD/2006] 8/10=Wow...they have smoked the first two records, still not among the thrones of international power metal, but if they keep this up they'd might as well reserve a seat now.
GALNERYUS - One for All, All for One [CD/2007] 8/10=Another smoker, Galneryus travel forward wielding the flag of true Japanese metal high, bands like Anthem and Loudness should be proud!
GALNERYUS - Alsatia/Cause Disarray [DVD117/2008] 3/5="Cause Disarray" is the best tune on this EP, probably the only one I really liked.
GALNERYUS - Shining Moments [DVD140/2008] 2/3=Decent single, sounds like something to be looking forward to on their next album!
GALNERYUS - Reincarnation [DVD144/2008] 7/10=Although I like that their production continuously seems to shift backwards to a more raw, middle class sound, the songs here aren't quite at the level of previous albums.
GAMMA RAY - Heading for Tomorrow [CD/1990] 7/10=Kai Hansen does Helloween with another band and a singer that will one day become the new Rob Halford...and there was much rejoicing.
GAMMA RAY - Heaven Can Wait [CD/1990] 1/10=I loathe singles like this, they cost way too much money for what you get, especially imports.
GAMMA RAY - Sigh No More [CD/1991] 8/10=A really catchy album, better than the first. Who can forget a song like 'The Spirit'?
GAMMA RAY - Insanity and Genius [CD/1993] 7/10=It's another good one but it requires a few listens I think before it catches on.
GAMMA RAY - Silent Miracles [CD/1995] 4/10=Acoustic versions of Gamma Ray songs...oooh boy. Still, a decent enough listen once or twice.
GAMMA RAY - Land of the Free [CD/1996] 6/10=This is their weakest full-length album, but still has a lot of good music, and I believe this is where Kai starts singing.
GAMMA RAY - Somewhere Out in Space [CD/1997] 9/10=I think Kai's vocals are so much more welcome in this music than Ralf's were, but he's now in Primal Fear rocking out too. This album is very good.
GAMMA RAY - Powerplant [CD/1999] 9/10=Another of my fave Gamma Ray albums, I loved the production here and there isn't a song I don't enjoy.
GAMMA RAY - No World Order [CD/2001] 8/10=Not as good as the last two, but still a fine album with some memorable tracks like 'Dethrone Tyranny'.
GAMMA RAY - Skeletons in the Closet [CDx2/2002] 2/10=You know how I feel about this shit, I only gave it two points for a decent song selection and some material not on albums.
GAMMA RAY - Majestic [CD/2005] 9/10=Wow...blew me away right from the starting gate, it's dirtier and heavier than the past few albums, one of the best power metal albums I've heard in quite some time.
GAMMA RAY - Land of the Free II [CD/2007] 8/10=I thought Majestic was amazing, this is another great album and certainly better than the original Land of the Free.
GAMMA RAY - Hell Yeah the Awesome Foursome Live in Montreal [CDx2/2008]
GEHENNA - First Spell [CD/1994] 5/10=Aahh...the grim organ intro...the mid paced Transylvanian black metal...it's all coming back to me now...I wouldn't call this EP bad but it is certainly mediocre and often dull.
GEHENNA - Second Spell: Seen Through the Veils of Darkness [CD/1995] 7/10=Face tearing Norwegian black metal, if you want something else you've definitely come to the wrong place. Very good album, not a great one though.
GEHENNA - Black Seared Heart [CD/1995] 7/10=The most gothically oriented of their black metal albums, but still quite good.
GEHENNA - Malice [CD/1996] 8/10=Some solid ass mother fucking black metal straight out of Norway, I'm a bit surprised this band never took off as much as Emperor or Satyricon, they're certainly better than Dimmu Borgir.
GEHENNA - Adimiron Black [CD/1998] 8/10=This band rarely does any wrong, their albums are of a consistently high quality even if none of them have turned out ot be masterpieces, all are worth hearing and/or owning.
GEHENNA - Deadlights [CD/1998] 4/10=A song from Adimiron Black and two other tracks which are pretty cool, worth having for fans.
GEHENNA - Murder [CD/2000] 8/10=An excellent album that took me by surprise, has a very groovy death element interspersed with the harsh black metal motif, in fact it's probably more of a death metal album overall.
GEHENNA - WW [CD/2005] 8/10=Their first album in half a decade, excellent, murky Norwegian black metal that should appeal to their fans, or fans of Satyricon, Khold, Gorgoroth, etc.
GHOUL (US)- We Came for the Dead!! [CD/2002] 8/10=Simply put, the best of the Carcass ripoff bands, not only are they good at what they do but they're fucking hilarious. 'Graveyard Mosh', 'Suspicious Chunks'. Amazing.
GHOUL (US)- Maniaxe [CD/2003] 8/10=Production here is a little different than We Came for the Dead!! but the album is still just as good. Actually I think might be the same band as Impaled. 'Sewer Chewer' rules!
GHOUL (US) - Splatterthrash [CD/2006] 8/10=It takes a few listens to appreciate this as much as the first two records, what it lacks in catchiness it makes up for in ghoulish quantity. Nice early death metal influences, Pestilence etc.
GIGANTIC BRAIN - The Invasion Discography [CD/2004] 10/10=Gigantic Brain fuckin Pwns. 63 tracks here of alien grindcore with a drum machine, but it don't matter, you just cannot go wrong with a Giant fucking Brain from space.
GLITTERTIND - Mellom Bakkar Og Berg [CD/2002] 7/10=A fun Viking metal album, probably the most 'metal' of the Glittertind records, but see if you can spot the Poison riff.
GLITTERTIND - Evige Asatro [CD/2003] 9/10=Amazing Viking folk metal, soaring and crystal clear, perfect for your mead hall get togethers.
GLITTERTIND - Til Dovre Faller [CD/2005] 5/5=Excellent new EP of folk metal from this Norse project, involves members of other bands like Myrkskog and Finntroll.
GLOOMY GRIM - Blood, Monsters, Darkness [CD/1998] 8/10=Hahahah, I realize this is supposed to be somewhat of a joke band yet they manage to churn out some creepy, entertaining goth/black metal and the first track 'War' is just a killer.
GLOOMY GRIM - Life? [CD/2000] 7/10=With tracks like 'Born in Fire', 'Mistress of the Stormblast', and 'At the Gates' you can tell this band is continuing to parody the rest of the black metal universe, and they are doing it well, I love how they use the chimes.
GLOOMY GRIM - Written in Blood [CD/2002] 7/10=Still going pretty strong, although I detect this album might be slightly more serious than the past two.
GLOOMY GRIM - The Grand Hammering [CD/2004] 7/10=Another solid chunk of black metal infamy, though now I hear they don't like being referred to as 'blackk metal'. Okay guys. Another fun record though.
GLOOMY GRIM - Tapetum Lucidum [DVD63/2007] 4/5=New EP with four tunes of creepy black metal as only Gloomy Grim can do it.
GLOOMY GRIM - Under the Spell of the Unlight [CD/2008] 9/10=It's a fucking fantastic album better than anything they've ever done.
GOATMOON - Death Before Dishonour [CD/2004] 6/10=Grim Finnish black metal with Aryan philosophy, as usual take that as you will, but this is one dark and crushing sound here, with crashing live drum kit. Not bad at all.
GOATMOON - Finnish Steel Storm [CD/2007] 10/10=Talking about an improvement, this has got to be the best black metal album I've heard in 2007. Simple but extremely catchy and glorious, great riffs. Great fucking job.
GOATWHORE - The Eclipse of Ages Into Black [CD/2000] 7/10=Vile New Orleans black metal, I really like this band but their full potential shines through with the next album, this is still quite good though.
GOATWHORE - Funeral Dirge for the Rotting Sun [CD/2003] 8/10=Quite the asskicking, we have one of the very best US black metal bands, and possibly my favorite band from the late New Orleans. Filthy and unique.
GOATWHORE - A Haunting Curse [CD/2006] 9/10=The album title sucks, but the album is exactly what they needed to make, it's extremely good and one year from now they'll be huge and we'll all hate them to death. It's that good.
GODFLESH - Godflesh [CD/1988] 7/10=The prototype, this set the stage for the bizarre, muddy industrial dank metal this band would churn out for much of their career.
GODFLESH - Streetcleaner [CD/1989] 9/10=Heavy as all fuck industrial metal, this came out of leftfield to take the metal scene by storm. Repetition is the only flaw here, but the songs are great, and it is easily their best work.
GODFLESH - Slavestate [CD/1991] 5/10=Nothing this band ever did would top Streetcleaner, and this being the first followup had the most pressure on it...and didn't quite deliver, but it's still alright for an extended EP.
GODFLESH - Pure [CD/1991] 6/10=They've always managed with each release to somehow evolve, this is the full length after Streetcleaner and they have done just that, it's not as good but it's still interesting.
GODFLESH - Selfless [CD/1994] 5/10=As time passed on, Godflesh got marginally less heavy, less dark, and less relevant, but there are still a few standout tracks on this album, it's just that some of the tracks absolutely suck.
GODFLESH - Songs of Love and Hate [CD/1996] 8/10=I think after Streetcleaner this is my favorite Godflesh, it just has that certain 'it' once again to make a grooving, dark, discordant industrial metal record.
GODFLESH - Us and Them [CD/1999]
GODFLESH - Hymns [CD/2001] 6/10=Pretty good record, kind of rocks along for the duration, not my favorite but they've certainly produced worse than this.
GODFLESH - Messiah [CD/2003] 5/10=Four tracks and then four 'dub' version of those tracks, but the material here is interesting enough that fans should check it out.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR - F# A# 00 [CD/1998] 9/10=A brilliant band, their music is really beyond compare, creating an urgent atmosphere at times, and mellowing out at others. One of a kind.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR/AMAZEZINE - Split [DVD59/1998] 3/5=Not the strongest showing for Godspeed, and I could give or take Amazezine.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada [CD/1999] 8/10=Only two tracks here clocking in just under a half hour, but their amazing sense of ambience is present in full force.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven! [CDx2/2000] 9/10=Another seriously killer record from this bizarre band, their longest work spanning two discs with four lengthy tracks.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR - Tiny Silver Hammers [DVD59/2001] 5/5=Impressive live EP from the Canadian masters of post-rock.
GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR - Yanqui U.X.O. [CD/2002] 9/10=I don't give them perfect scores because though they rule, there is usually a bit of less inspired filler on most of their albums. Still, required listening.
GOJIRA - Terra Incognita [CD/2001] 6/10=Gojira are a French band who mix together sounds of acts like Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Carcass and Neurosis to a pretty unique sound. Lot of filler here, but occasional good moments.
GOJIRA - The Link [DVD43/2003] 6/10=Another curious album from the French math metal band, not their best.
GOJIRA - From Mars to Sirius [CD/2005] 7/10=Pretty worthwhile French band, their sound is a mixture of Neurosis, Meshuggah and other noise/death metal, vocals remind me a bit of Dog Faced Gods and The Defaced.
GOJIRA - The Way of All Flesh [CD/2008] 9/10=For awhile this band has been on the edge of something really great, and I think this is their first 'breakthrough'. Fans of Mastodon and Meshuggah should check it out.
GOREFEST - Mindloss [CD/1991] 6/10=::takes a bow:: The Dutch have certainly made their impact on the death metal genre, with Pestilence, Sinister, and these guys too, good stuff with a noticeable Florida influence.
GOREFEST - False [CD/1993] 8/10=Simply a great death metal album, they've come into their own sound now and have proceeded to smash me over the head with it.
GOREFEST - Erase [CD/1994] 8/10=Another evolutionary step, down-tuned, brutal death rock, this one divided a lot of their fans but I can't see why, it's a good album with good songs, the only stuff close to this in sound was Crowbar. The title track is just sick.
GOREFEST - Chapter 13 [CD/1998] 7/10=Now fully a death'n'roll band, but nothing like the others Entombed, Desultory, etc...at times these even sounds like a Death Metal Pearl Jam if you can imagine that!
GOREFEST - La Muerte [CD/2005] 8/10=Gorefest are back with what I could consider rather a triumph, it borrows from their early and mid-career death styles and yet has this new found, glorious songwriting approach. Excellent.
GOREFEST - Rise to Ruin [CD/2007] 8/10=Another solid ass kicking from the Dutch veterans.
GORGOROTH - A Sorcery Written in Blood [CD/1993] 2/10=The first track is just vomit-like screaming and feedback, then there are two half-decent tracks for a black metal demo.
GORGOROTH - Promo [CD/1994] 2/10=Two songs that will appear again.
GORGOROTH - Pentagram [CD/1994] 7/10=And they're off! Pure Norwegian black metal, an enjoyable album even if it does derive a bit from its peers.
GORGOROTH - Antichrist [CD/1996] 7/10=Another good release...there is more depth and melody in the tracks here, but they still retain the requisite primal ferocity.
GORGOROTH - The Last Tormentor [CD/1996] 2/10=Sometimes I just hate EPs, because they offer so little and you know the band is probably going to re-release the material at some point in some package deal, or on albums...
GORGOROTH - Under the Sign of Hell [CD/1997] 7/10=I'm sure it was intentional, but I love the slappy sounding drums on this album, another solid entry in the Gorgoroth legacy.
GORGOROTH - Destroyer [CD/1998] 9/10=They cranked up the intensity a notch for this album, and it's about as cold and warlike as you can get. Excellent.
GORGOROTH - Incipit Satan [CD/2000] 6/10=Laid-back compared to earlier releases, with a clear production, some clean male vocals, and more melody within the song structures. Radio-friendly Gorgoroth, what is this world coming to?!
GORGOROTH - Twilight of the Idols [CD/2003] 8/10=Aaah...that good old extremity returns, and we get another great Norwegian BM album.
GORGOROTH - Unter Den Flugeln Von Satan [CD/2005] 2/10=Not sure what this is, but if it is in fact Gorgoroth re-issuing or re-recording early material to make more money off their fans, then color me fucking appalled.
GORGOROTH - Ad Majorem Satanhas Gloriam [CD/2006] 8/10=I like it slightly better than the previous album but not as much as Destroyer. This does have some interesting composition though.
GRABESMOND - Mordenheim [DVD73/1997] 7/10=Cheesy gothic orchestration from Protector of Summoning, this has more in common with his band Die Verbannten Kinder Evas than Summoning itself.
GRABESMOND - Xenoglossie [DVD73/1999] 8/10=More atmospheric and superior to the first album by Grabesmond.
GRAFENSTEIN - Silence Endless [DVD43/2005] 5/5=Couldn't tell you a goddamn thing about this band but this is a furious and fantastic grim black metal demo.
GRAFENSTEIN - Death Born [CD/2007] 9/10=Amazing blackened thrash with a crusty, evil production. If you have a song called "Storm of Maggots" you win.
GRAVE DIGGER - Heavy Metal Breakdown [CD/1984] 7/10=I honestly can't listen to this much, it was amazing quality for the time but their newer music is much better.
GRAVE DIGGER - Heavy Metal Breakdown [CD/1984] 8/10=This is the Japanese version of the album, a much better value b/c you get 10 bonus tracks.
GRAVE DIGGER - Shoot Her Down [CD/1984] 5/10=Excellent 3-track EP from these German metal legends, seriously fucking awesome.
GRAVE DIGGER - Witch Hunt [CD/1985] 7/10=It's as good as their debut but still not as impressive as some of their modern material.
GRAVE DIGGER - War Games [CD/1986] 6/10=Another decent record but this is a band that will improve dramatically with age.
GRAVE DIGGER - The Reaper [CD/1993] 8/10=One of my favorites, the title track is so catchy that I'm still humming it over a decade later.
GRAVE DIGGER - Symphony of Death [CD/1993] 6/10=An EP with some good tunes, worth checking out if you're a fan.
GRAVE DIGGER - Heart of Darkness [CD/1995] 6/10=Like most Grave Digger albums, this is good stuff but they've done better and will do better in the future.
GRAVE DIGGER - Tunes of War [CD/1996] 8/10=Grave Digger would do concept albums from here on out, and this is all about Scotland, Braveheart, blah blah. Has some of GD's greatest tunes though and the album that really made me go back and listen to them again.
GRAVE DIGGER - Knights of the Cross [CD/1998] 7/10=The Crusades concept works well here, this is a solid album with a number of good tunes.
GRAVE DIGGER - The Dark of the Sun [CD/1997] 4/10=An EP with a live intro, a new cut, and three remakes of early Grave Digger tunes 'Witch Hunt', 'Headbanging Man', and 'Heavy Metal Breakdown'. Four tunes, four points, fans only.
GRAVE DIGGER - Excalibur [CD/1999] 6/10=A good album but I totally forgot it after time, no tunes that really stuck out to me, King Arthur theme.
GRAVE DIGGER - The Grave Digger [CD/2001] 9/10=Excellent power metal album, Grave Digger is metal with elbow grease, never as pretty nor melodic as other German bands in the style but just as essential, Edgar Allen Poe theme.
GRAVE DIGGER - Rheingold [CD/2003] 7/10=Seems weak at first, but after a few spins I really enjoyed this one, Wagnerian theme.
GRAVE DIGGER - The Last Supper [CD/2005] 8/10=Sad to see them use a biblical concept this time out, but the music here rocks and it's better than Rheingold.
GRAVE DIGGER - Yesterday [CD/2006] 4/10=A new single, with two new tunes, a cover and an orchestral version. It's alright but nothing that moving. Psyched to hear their next record.
GRAVE DIGGER - Liberty or Death [CD/2006] 7/10=And that psyching was almost a disappointment here, many of the songs just sound too much like I've heard them before, but on repeat listens the record has become much better.
GRAVELAND - Drunemeton [CD/1992] 6/10=Simply one of the most evil demos I've heard in my life, it helps that it is practically album length with 12 tracks. Graveland was off to a promising start with this.
GRAVELAND - Promo [CD/1992] 5/10=Yet another of three demos this year, this had a very crushing evil sound but only 4 tracks. Still, another early work displaying the storm that would be Graveland.
GRAVELAND - The Celtic Winter [CD/1993] 7/10=The Celtic Winter demo reissued in more official packaging, quite good, some of my favorite early Graveland is to be had on this evil recording.
GRAVELAND - Carpathian Wolves [CD/1994] 6/10=The lords of NSBM, take that as you will, this is raw black/doom metal, sloppy but cult and about as elite as you are going to get.
GRAVELAND - Thousand Swords [CD/1995] 6/10=Seems to be a step back soundwise from the last two records, though I still got some enjoyment out of its crumbling, creeping evil.
GRAVELAND - In the Glare of Burning Churches [CD/1996] 6/10=Again, sloppy second tier black metal with a message that makes most people cringe, but I find their stuff actually growing on me here, a decent and evil record.
GRAVELAND - Following the Voice of Power [CD/1997] 6/10=Were it not for the very tin drums and jangly guitar tone and imperceptible bass, I would rate this higher, still an interesting listen for Graveland fans.
GRAVELAND - Immortal Pride [CD/1998] 7/10=Hail motherfucking Graveland, who do not seem to be meeting any obstacles on the path to self-improvement. They even manage to pull off a 24 minute epic here, and another 16 minute epic.
GRAVELAND - Impaler's Wolves [CD/1999] 5/10=Two lengthy tracks here on this EP, a repressed but enjoyable sound, love the gongs and way these two just lumber on through their decrepit darkness.
GRAVELAND - Creed of Iron [CD/2000] 8/10=Quite excellent, one of those albums that manages to be extremely powerful despite its simplicity. Fans of Bathory's slower viking stuff can't go wrong with this album.
GRAVELAND - Raise Your Sword! [CD/2001] 6/10=Pretty epic stuff, even for Graveland. Three good-length tracks full of somber majesty, a little repetitious but it sort of lulls you into an ancient Polish heroic dreamstate.
GRAVELAND - Blood of Heroes [CD/2002] 3/10=Either a single or a rip from a 7", only two songs so it's not really worth it, especially since this isn't their strongest material or even close.
GRAVELAND - Memory and Destiny [CD/2002] 7/10=Another of those limited edition albums, but another good Graveland full-length. Particularly fond of the atmosphere he manages to evoke, with the folk backdrop.
GRAVELAND - The Fire of Awakening [CD/2003] 7/10=This one is also quite lovely, another epic set of black war poems infused with some truly grim battle metal.
GRAVELAND - Dawn of Iron Blades [CD/2004] 8/10=Damn...glorious mid-paced black metal like Bathory's Blood Fire Death, huge improvement for Graveland, they are NSBM but have never been blatant in the music itself.
GRAVELAND - Fire Chariot of Destruction [CD/2005] 9/10=Absolutely amazing...Rob Darken returns for yet another in an impressive array of epic black dominance. Were you waiting for a true successor to Blood Fire Death? Try this.
GRAVELAND - Will Stronger Than Death [CD/2007] 9/10=Rob Darken returneth with another masterwork on par with Fire Chariot of Destruction, this guy has really picked it up over the past few years.
GRAVELAND - Wotan Mit Mir [DVD128/2008] 3/5=A new EP, it's not his best material but it's not bad.
GRIMNIR - Kreuzzeg in den Tod [CD/2006] 9/10=Pure fucking unadulterated evil from this Austrian warkvlt, you are a fucking pussy if you do not listen to or do not like them. That is all.
GRIMNIR/TRIST/REGNUM/HYPOTHERMIA - Split EP [DVD118/2008] 3/5=Raw black metal EP, four bands, four countries, you know damn well I liked Grimnir the most.
GUITAR WOLF - Missle Me [CD/1996] 8/10=Sound is really repressed and not always easy to make up, but it's not like they care, and if you COULD make it out you would realize just how excellent it all is.
GUITAR WOLF - Jet Generation [CD/1999] 9/10=Grimy motherfucking rock and roll, this is very simple shit, but full of energy and that pioneering spirit and cool that most Japanese bands seem to possess. One point off for generic riffs.
GUITAR WOLF - Rock'n'Roll Etiquette [CD/2004] 10/10=An excellent album, one of their better releases, totally awash in noisy reverb and social angst.
GUITAR WOLF - Loverock [CD/2004] 10/10=Dirty, noisy, hostile Japanese rock and roll, from one of the greatest bands I've ever heard, even if I just started listening the other day hahahahaha. Unbelievable and essential.
GUITAR WOLF - Dead Rock [CD/2007] 9/10=You know you want it. You know you waited for it. You know it's here.
