Music K Kill vision

KAAMOS - Kaamos [CD/2002]
KAAMOS - Lucifer Rising [CD/2005] 8/10=Swedish death metal, fairly oldschool style, and done rather well, easily up there with the Ribspreaders and Bloodbaths of the world.
KAAMOS - Scales of Leviathan [DVD68/2007] 4/5=Sweet new EP of raw old-school Swedish death metal, hell yes.

KALMAH - Svieri Obraza [CD/1999] 5/10=Their 3-song demo that got them their record deal, pretty good work here and you could see the potential.
KALMAH - Swamplord [CD/2001] 7/10=Impressive debut of melodic death metal with neo-classical elements, one of Finland's finest bands.
KALMAH - They Will Return [CD/2002] 9/10=Their best album, I just loved it, very catchy songs and a lot of replay value for me, far better than Bodom.
KALMAH - Swampsong [CD/2003] 6/10=Still trying to get into this, I liked the previous one so much that I figure it must just be me.
KALMAH - The Black Waltz [CD/2006] 8/10=A great album, the band have taken on a slightly harder edge, I'd say this is 2nd only to They Will Return... and has a lot of similarities to that album. Fulfilling.
KALMAH - For the Revolution [CD/2008] 9/10=Pretty much on par with They Will Return as one of their very best releases yet, a fantastic album with a lot of depth. Pure Kalmah bliss.

KAMPFAR - Mellom Skogledde Aeser [CD/1997] 8/10=Melodic, airy Norwegian black metal, I truly enjoy the aesthetics at work on this album, even the campy keyboard passages. A nice Viking theme.
KAMPFAR - Norse [CD/1998] 3/10=Three songs for three points, I didn't enjoy the music on the EP as much as the full-length.
KAMPFAR - Fra Underverdenen [CD/1999] 9/10=Another Viking masterwork, I really dug this album, even moreso than their debut.
KAMPFAR - Kvass [CD/2006] 8/10=Seven-year wait for this one, and it's not as good as the previous album, but still quite worthwhile and maintains that big mead-hall production aesthetic.
KAMPFAR - Heimgang [CD/2008] 8/10=Another example of Kampfar greatness, I may enjoy this ever so slightly more than Kvass even.

KARJALAN SISSIT - Miserere [CD/2002] 8/10=Another impressive debut for a group on Cold Meat Industry. This is bombastic but beautiful militant industrial glory with some bizarre vocal samples....wow.
KARJALAN SISSIT - Karjalasta Kajahtaa [DVD77/2004] 8/10=Revulsive, hostile martial noise from this Swedish bombardier.
KARJALAN SISSIT - Tanssit on Loppu Nyt [DVD57/2006] 8/10=More of the Swedish artist's swelling, dark ambience w/creepy narration...great dark music here.

KATATONIA - Jhva Elohim Meth...the Revival [CD/1992] 5/10=Early doom/death output, kinda boring.
KATATONIA - Dance of December Souls [CD/1993] 6/10=It's the debut EP times two in length, still kinda boring but a little better.
KATATONIA - For Funerals to Come [CD/1995] 6/10=More of that early doom/death, lot of melancholy blah blah, not bad, not terrible impressive.
KATATONIA - Brave Murder Day [CD/1996] 8/10=Here they go, this has much catchier, if extremely repetitive riffing, and a bit of an artsy influence. This would be the start of something great.
KATATONIA - Sounds of Decay [CD/1997] 7/10=An EP similar in style to Brave Murder Day.
KATATONIA - Saw You Drown [CD/1998] 3/10=A single from Discouraged Ones, with some decent non-album tracks.
KATATONIA - Discouraged Ones [CD/1998] 8/10=A very good album, kind of a Cure influence mixed with the stuff they did on Brave Murder Day.
KATATONIA - Tonight's Decision [CD/1999] 9/10=Wow...this is a good one, just short of perfect. Some extremely memorable songs here.
KATATONIA - Teargas [CD/2001] 5/10=Decent EP single with non-album tracks.
KATATONIA - Last Fair Deal Gone Down [CD/2001] 9/10=Another strong album, I like the experimentation and attitude here.
KATATONIA - Tonight's Music [CD/2001] 5/10=Another decent EP single with some non-album tracks.
KATATONIA - Viva Emptiness [CD/2003] 6/10=Kind of a letdown, the lyrics here are starting to suck, I don't need Katatonia to say motherfucker all the time, still a good vibe and some good riffs, but pale compared to earlier stuff.
KATATONIA - Brave Yesterdays [CDx2/2004] 4/10=A compilation right up your ass, with a bunch of stuff you already have on other albums or maybe you don't have the singles and EPs, big whoop. It's like bending over in prison.
KATATONIA - The Black Sessions [CDx2/2005] 4/10=Are you kidding me? You just released a two-disc retrospective and now you're going to put out another one? Honestly, fuck you. Most of this is rare/b-sides though, fans take note.
KATATONIA - The Great Cold Distance [CD/2006] 7/10=There are some weak tracks, but the majority of the album is quite good and Katatonia are on their way back to form.
KATATONIA - My Twin [CD/2006] 4/10=CD single, with two version of "My Twin" from their new album, and two other tunes. As usual, Katatonia deliver the quality songs, these extra tracks are cool.
KATATONIA - Deliberation [CD/2006] 2/3=An album cut, a video, a non-album cut, and a remix of another album cut. Katatonia fans who must buy everything this band shits out, rejoice.
KATATONIA - July [DVD23/2007] 2/3=Similar to the previous single: you've got "July", the video for "July", a remix of "Soil's Song", and a new tune called "Unfurl".

KEEP OF KALESSIN - Through Times of War [CD/1997] 8/10=Hard to find something NOT to like about this, a fine black metal album loaded with worthy riffs and a clear, in-your-face production.
KEEP OF KALESSIN - A Journey Through the Dark [CD/2000] 7/10=A Norwegian black metal band that have always taken their time to produce some decent material, I like this album but overall I prefer the debut album.
KEEP OF KALESSIN - Reclaim [CD/2003] 6/10=Not my favorite material by KoK but this EP is more than ample evidence that after years the band are still going quite strong.
KEEP OF KALESSIN - Armada [CD/2006] 8/10=A ferocious new record from this futuristic black metal outfit, not afraid to thrash it up when necessary.
KEEP OF KALESSIN - Kolossus [CD/2008] 8/10=Another krusher from the keep.

KHOLD - Masterpiss of Pain [CD/2001] 7/10=If you can imagine a Darkthrone with cleaner production, and just as much Celtic Frost/Hellhammer influence, then you've got a pretty good idea of Khold. A pretty good album.
KHOLD - Phantom [CD/2002] 7/10=This is somewhat more musical than the debut, and I enjoy it more, but not enough for an extra point.
KHOLD - Morke Gravers Kammer [CD/2004] 8/10=This time out they've really got a crusher on their hands, my favorite of the three.
KHOLD - Krek [CD/2005] 6/10=I don't know really what to say, some of the riffs here are almost groovy and nu-metallic, yes I said it, though much of the Khold presence is still in effect, perhaps this is just more accessible?
KHOLD - Hundre Ar Gammal [CD/2008] 8/10=Khold is back where we want 'em! A good, simple black metal record here, evil in all the right places. It tickles.

KING CRIMSON - In the Court of the Crimson King [CD/1969] 10/10=One of the most expressive, trippiest pieces of music to escape from the human hands and minds out into the stratosphere. Beyond amazing.
KING CRIMSON - In the Wake of Poseidon [CD/1970] 9/10=It would be worth hearing for "The Devil's Triangle" alone, a chaotic masterwork, but the rest of it is also damn good and it is far from a sophomore slump.
KING CRIMSON - Lizard [CD/1970] 9/10=It's another phenomenal piece by what must have been the most original prog rock group in existence during this team, of course it would be years until I was even alive.
KING CRIMSON - Islands [CD/1971] 7/10=By no means bad, but a bit of a let down after the first three, mighty records.
KING CRIMSON - Earthbound [CD/1972] 2/5=Live record, kind of sounded like crap.
KING CRIMSON - Lark's Tongues in Aspic [CD/1973] 9/10=This one defies description, further pushing the boundaries of King Crimson from its jazz to its orchestration to its fantastic psychedelic rock.
KING CRIMSON - Starless and Bible Black [CD/1974] 9/10=Another impressive outing from one of the most unique musical entities in history.
KING CRIMSON - Red [CD/1974] 9/10=Post-rock before there was post-rock, heavy as fuck for 1974 and extremely moody, this concludes the pseudo-trilogy that began with Larks' Tongues in Aspic. The title track is sick.
KING CRIMSON - Discpline [CD/1981] 8/10=Seven years later, enter the post-hiatus King Crimson with Adrian Belew on guitar, another solid album but not one of my very favorites.
KING CRIMSON - Beat [CD/1982] 8/10=The poppiest record yet, but certainly not lacking for originality and varied instrumentation and composition.
KING CRIMSON - Three of a Perfect Pair [CD/1984] 8/10=Another intruiging 80s record, I remember the more 'commercial' tunes were on one half and the latter half were more bizarre compositions.
KING CRIMSON - The Great Deceiver [CDx4/1992] 4/5=Lot of live material across the four discs.
KING CRIMSON - Vrooom [CD/1994] 8/10=Excellent improv record, hell I wish this had just been a normal King Crimson record.
KING CRIMSON - B'Boom [CDx2/1995] 4/5=Two discs, an 'official bootleg', band-approved, from Argentina.
KING CRIMSON - THRAK [CD/1995] 8/10=More wild experimentation, follows the very improv style of Vroom mini-album, never fails to fascinate.
KING CRIMSON - Thrakattak Live [CD/1996] 5/5=Phenomenally cool live record with some great improv material, fucking balls mate.
KING CRIMSON - Epitaph [CDx2/1997] 3/5=Cool collection with a previously unreleased live set.
KING CRIMSON - The Nightwatch [CDx2/1997] 5/5=Another excellent live double album, this is definitely a band who excels in that setting.
KING CRIMSON - Absent Lovers: Live in Montreal [CDx2/1998] 5/5=And there must be an echo in here...really King Crimson live records must be the next best thing to being there, eh?
KING CRIMSON - Cirkus [CDx2/1999] 5/5=These are various live tunes pulled forward throughout the years, picked by Fripp to make yet another superb live double-album.
KING CRIMSON - Deception of the Thrush [CD/1999] 8/10=Another great improv album performed by the various projeKCts groups of King Crimson...whatever, don't try to figure it out, just enjoy the cool music.
KING CRIMSON - On Broadway [CDx2/1999] 5/5=And yes, yet again we have a double album set of wondrous Crimson live matter, this time released originally into the Crimson Collector's Club.
KING CRIMSON - The ConstrucKtion of Light [CD/2000] 9/10=After a ton of great live works and some improv, it's nice to get back to a regular ol' King Crimson full-length...and this is amazing, spacey, atmospheric, wonderful.
KING CRIMSON - Happy With What You Have to Be Happy With [CD/2002] 5/5=Excellent EP with some intriguing tracks, including the crushing title track.
KING CRIMSON - The Power to Believe [CD/2003] 9/10=If it isn't obvious by now, this band has never, ever fucking failed to deliver, they are amazing and this is one of their deepest, heaviest works.

KING DIAMOND - Fatal Portrait [CD/1986] 8/10=The raw elements of a mighty career, I'll go against the grain and say I've always liked King Diamond better than Mercyful Fate.
KING DIAMOND - Abigail [CD/1987] 10/10=Absolutely smashing, rifftastic, loaded with that irresistable King Diamond atmosphere.
KING DIAMOND - Them [CD/1988] 9/10=Another masterpiece, but a little short of perfect.
KING DIAMOND - The Dark Sides [CD/1989] 8/10=Some rarities on an EP, but it's great because this is some of his best songs and they aren't on the albums I have.
KING DIAMOND - Conspiracy [CD/1989] 9/10=Excellent production here but still maintains that King Diamond vibe.
KING DIAMOND - The Eye [CD/1990] 10/10=I just love the distant, echoing, production of this album, and it doesn't hurt that I also love every song on it. Probably my favorite along with Abigail.
KING DIAMOND - The Spider's Lullabye {CD/1995] 7/10=A good King Diamond album, just the songs aren't as strong as his previous albums, but still fits in well with all the classics.
KING DIAMOND - The Graveyard [CD/1996] 1/10=This is absolute shit. Hate the production and hate the songs, what happened? How the mighty have fallen!
KING DIAMOND - Voodoo [CD/1998] 6/10=Okay, a step back in the right direction. Still not his strongest work, but it's back on track.
KING DIAMOND - House of God [CD/2000] 7/10=There is some good stuff on this album, some good riffs, but overall it's just not as strong as the earlier work.
KING DIAMOND - Abigail II: The Revenge [CD/2002] 7/10=Another strong album, just not full of good songs like the early stuff, certainly enjoyable, but worthy of being 'Abigail II'? I think not.
KING DIAMOND - The Puppet Master [CD+DVD/2003] 5/10=At first I loathed this, then I realized there are some good riffs here and there.
KING DIAMOND - Deadly Lullabyes [CDx2/2004] 5/10=A competent double live album, but that's all you get...music you already have, performed live.
KING DIAMOND - Give Me Your Soul...Please [CD/2007] 7/10=It's pretty good, but King Diamond sounds a little lackluster, almost bored on this record. Almost as good as Abigail II though, primarily b/c of the riffs.

KINGDOM COME - Kingdom Come [CD/1988] 9/10=What can I say? They are the best Led Zeppelin since Led Zeppelin, and in fact, the modern production makes them sound better at times. A phenomenal album regardless of what you've heard.
KINGDOM COME - In Your Face [CD/1989] 9/10=Slightly shy of perfection, almost every tune on this bluesy hard rock record is memorable, especially 'Just Like a Wild Rose', what a fucking song.
KINGDOM COME - Hands of Time [CD/1990] 8/10=This may have suffered from being a little more tedious, but there are still plenty of great riffs to be found on this album, and Lenny shows no sign of slowing, even without his band...
KINGDOM COME - Bad Image [CD/1993] 7/10=I consider this one of the worst Kingdom Come records, but even at his worst, Lenny Wolf is still a great songwriter and this is still a powerful album. Their first real electronic elements appear.
KINGDOM COME - Twilight Cruiser [CD/1996] 8/10=Despite the fact is is the strangest Kingdom Come album, there is not a song on this that I don't at least like, much less love, and there are some nice, heavy KC songs here too.
KINGDOM COME - Master Seven [CD/1997] 8/10=Only the great Lenny Wolf could keep his bluesy, melodic rock style alive, with great vocals and tasteful, minimal electronic enhancement. Another scorcher in a long line of scorchers.
KINGDOM COME - Too [CD/2000] 7/10=Say what you will, this guy does not quit. He loves what he does, he does it well, and he doesn't change his art for any pop culture trends. Bluesy, Zeppelin-inspired rock music to the max.
KINGDOM COME - Perpetual [CD/2004] 8/10=Amp up some of the electric beats, but write us up another kickass album. Love those Page-like guitar tones and all their melodic glory. Fuck yes, this is one helluva guy.

KISS - Kiss [CD/1974] 10/10=100% pure fun rock & roll, often attaining more depth than they had originally bargained for. This album came out the year I was born. Like myself, it is perfect. COLD GIN TIME AGAIN!!! DANANANANANANA!!!
KISS - Hotter than Hell [CD/1974] 9/10=Another classic record from the New York rock legends, I may not have enjoyed this as much as the debut but it still rocks thoroughly.
KISS - Dressed to Kill [CD/1975] 8/10=This has some legendary tracks on it, "Rock and Roll All Nite", "She", etc, but I don't feel it's Kiss at their absolute best.
KISS - Alive [CDx2/1975] 5/10=Sounded fun for 1975, I particularly love the live "Cold Gin" but that's such a damn good song anyway.
KISS - Destroyer [CD/1976] 10/10=Along with the s/t debut, this is one of the best Kiss albums ever, with classic tracks like "Shout it Out Loud", "Detroit Rock City", and the almighty "God of Thunder".
KISS - Rock and Roll Over [CD/1976] 9/10=How did this band do it? They put this out in the same year as the godly Destroyer, and yet this album is almost as perfect itself! Fuck yes!
KISS - Love Gun [CD/1977] 8/10=Perhaps not one of my favorites, but the title track and a few other underrated tunes like "Almost Human" and "Shock Me" make this well worth having in your Kiss collection.
KISS - Alive II [CDx2/1977] 5/10=Another double live set, sounds great and they do focus more on the material from the albums since the first Alive KISS - Ace Frehley [CD/1978] 7/10=An interesting idea, each member of Kiss got a solo album, strangely enough, they were pretty good. Ace's record doesn't sound all that different from your standard decent Kiss album.
KISS - Gene Simmons [CD/1978] 8/10=Gene's record was perhaps the most sinister and interesting of the Kiss solo pieces, you know it's going to be something else when you hear the classical intro and demonic vocals...
KISS - Paul Stanley [CD/1978] 8/10=Another of the better solo albums, this really doesn't sound any different than other Kiss fare, has a cool production and rocks out in an epic, 70s driving hard rock way.
KISS - Peter Criss [CD/1978] 7/10=Perhaps the most controversial of the four solo records because of its obvious disco and soft rock influences, however these don't make the album a total waste, there are some good tunes.
KISS - Dynasty [CD/1979] 7/10=Not my favorite, but has some real rockers on hee like "Dirty Livin'" that were quite catchy, a slight disco era influence on some tracks, particularly the bass lines.
KISS - Unmasked [CD/1980] 8/10=Good old rock and roll, this isn't one of their best but still you can sing along to just about every song here. I mean, how do you not like Kiss?
KISS - Music from 'The Elder' [CD/1981] 9/10=Arguably the most 'metal' Kiss record of all time, brooding, dark, and epic, far more serious than the rest of their output. Sort of a low-key rock opera. And pretty fucking awesome.
KISS - Creatures of the Night [CD/1982] 9/10=Many people can't stand the early 80s 'cheese metal' KISS years, but I absolutely loved this period and they put out a series of strong records that I still listen to.
KISS - Lick It Up [CD/1983] 9/10=Another awesome melodic metal piece from their early 80s phase, not a stinker on the entire record. LICK IT UP!
KISS - Animalize [CD/1984] 9/10=Falls right in line with the last two albums, great fun and catchy 80s hard rock with some 'metal' in there and many memorable hooks...UNDER THE GUN!
KISS - Asylum [CD/1985] 8/10=Every year they keep turning out good album after good album, yeah many people thought this 80s phase sucked, but why? It's fun, memorable stuff, the entire reason for KISS' existence.
KISS - Crazy Nights [CD/1986] 7/10=Perhaps a bit too cheesy on this record, but the title track still has that extremely catchy chorus. Some of the other songs are great though, hell, I still like this one.
KISS - Hot in the Shade [CD/1989] 7/10=Who could forget the cover to this one, the sphinx with shades on? The album is about as good as Crazy Nights, I didn't like this at first but it grew on me in no time.
KISS - Revenge [CD/1992] 8/10=Many people weren't willing to give this one a chance, it's got some GREAT songs on it...I mean come on, "Unholy"? How do you not like that song. Go fuck off you fucking poseur fucks.
KISS - Alive III [CD/1993] 4/10=Cool to hear some of the newer tracks live, and they have a great mix of old and new on this. Fun for a live disc.
KISS - Psycho Circus [CD/1998] 5/10=This is really the only KISS album I don't like, it still sounds like KISS but so overproduced and lacks that rough edge that made all the records so endearing.
KISS - Box Set [CDx5/2001] 3/10=A sort of 'ultimate' fan package type thing, I guess if you were a n00b you could save some dough or, what the fuck, the old CDs are dirt cheap grab them instead.

KLABAUTAMANN - Opus Obscoenum Infernalis [DVD59/1998] 3/5=Almost an album-length demo, my least favorite release from these guys, they'll get better w/age.
KLABAUTAMANN - Our Journey Through the Woods [DVD59/2003] 8/10=Well I've tracked down the full-lengths, and they are indeed worthy. The debut album here is a great black metal album.
KLABAUTAMANN - Der Ort [DVD59/2005] 10/10=Stunningly excellent German black metal, great music and even a hint of fucking originality...flawless, brilliant album.
KLABAUTAMANN - Klabautamann [DVD59/2007] 4/5=2 tracks on this new EP from German black metal band, makes me want to track down their full-lengths.

KLAXONS - Myths of the Near Future [CD/2007] 9/10=An excellent debut album from a very original English band, they have elements of British pop, dance, goth and rock and combine them into an extremely catchy whole. Very cool.

KONG - Mute Poet Vocalizer [CD/1990] 8/10=In general, this record wasn't as heavy as the later work, but it was a fascinating listen regardless. One of the Netherlands' most underrated bands in history.
KONG - Phlegm [CD/1992] 9/10=One of those bands that will have you asking "What the fuck did I just hear?" Kong's disjointed method of writing songs by having everyone in the band do something different is simply brilliant, I love this.
KONG - Push Comes to Shove [CD/1995] 9/10=Kong really define the notion of 'progressive', their approach to music has no precedent, alternating between beautiful, wondrous and crazy, industrial without being industrial.
KONG - Earmined [CD/1997] 8/10=Kong rhymes with Prong, and at times I heard some Prong on this album, addition of jungle beats though and otherwise, it's yet another great Kong record, though not their best.

KREATOR - Endless Pain [CD/1985] 7/10=Raw, primal thrash, the debut of one of the best bands to ever play this style.
KREATOR - Pleasure to Kill [CD/1986] 9/10=An absolutely excellent, unforgiving thrash metal album, legendary.
KREATOR - Terrible Certainty [CD/1987] 9/10=This band could not do wrong at this point, this one focuses on catchier riffs.
KREATOR - Out of the Dark...Into the Light [CD/1988] 4/10=A temporary act of sodomy by Kreator, with the requisite live tracks, a few non-album cuts and a cover or two. Not very memorable.
KREATOR - Extreme Aggression [CD/1989] 9/10=Most people consider this their best, but it's only my 4th favorite Kreator album.
KREATOR - Coma of Souls [CD/1990] 10/10=And my favorite album, so many great riffs here that this album kept me sated for years, and still does.
KREATOR - Renewal [CD/1992] 8/10=This was the beginning of their experimental phase, and it requires many listens to sink in, but worth it in the end.
KREATOR - Cause for Conflict [CD/1995] 5/10=One of my least favorite Kreator albums, it is a brief return to a thrashy style but I don't dig any of the songs.
KREATOR - Outcast [CD/1997] 6/10=Their infamous, simplified 'hardcore' record, with Tommy V of Coroner, who they completely waste on this stuff. Not a terrible record though.
KREATOR - Endorama [CD/1999] 5/10=They continue to experiment and this is kind of a melodic, goth-metal infused version of the original thrash style. Forgettable, but not awful.
KREATOR - Violent Revolution [CD/2001] 7/10=The 'comeback' album, retro is in so all the bands return to their roots to cash in, fortunately Kreator is so good that their comeback is actually a very good album.
KREATOR - Live Kreation [CDx2/2003] 5/10=It's one of the best live albums you'll hear, but it's still just a live album with songs you already have.
KREATOR - Enemy of God [CD/2004] 8/10=Just got this and listened to it three times already, riff for riff it's better than Violent Revolution and there seems to be a slightly more evil vibe to the album, perhaps a slight death metal influence.

KRODA - Cry to Me, River [DVD49/2004] 8/10=This Ukraine band was quite good from the start, melodic glorious black metal with synth bombastic and great folk influence.
KRODA/OPRICH - Legend/Wolfen Loyalty [DVD49/2005] 7/10=Split album between the excellent Ukraine band Kroda and a Russian folk metal band called Oprich, I'll just say that about 5-6 of these points are strictly for Kroda...
KRODA - Do Nebokraju Zhittja... [CD/2005] 8/10=An excellent convergence of folk elements and blasting black brutality, this Nationalist Ukrainian band has a lot of promise for two guys and a drum machine.
KRODA/VELIMOR - Molotom Duhu Ta Ednistyu Krovi [DVD49/2006] 4/5=Kroda once again dominates this split, but Velimor are at least half-decent melodic Russian pagan black, Kroda covers a Burzum tune here as well.
KRODA - Fimbulvinter [CD/2007] 9/10=They have managed to surpass themselves here with five epic compositions of pagan black metal. You can barely notice the drum machine which is a good thing. What a band.
