TOOTHACHE

I didn't mention dental problem because I didn't feel it had anything to do with BMS. I don't know when the problem started. On a scale from 0 to 10, 4 was the highest number that my tooth (on upper row of teeth, second from left and on the lower row, space between the second and third from left) bothered me. This happened occasionally, i.e. while/after eating, especially if the food is sweet. Those teeth would become extremely sensitive even when I drank water at normal temperature, but not all the time. This would happen maybe once in the day, then go, and then come back weeks later. This was annoying, but not torturing because I was being distracted by BMS.

After taking clonazepam for 3 days, pain on the tooth disappeared completely.

September 6, 2001
Just so happens I had a 1/2 yearly dentist appointment for routine cleaning. I told dentist about the tooth problem and how it disappeared and he said that maybe the clonazepam is masking the pain and advised me to come back for an appointment after I have completed being treated with the clonazepam, ONLY if the toothaches reappeared. He said there is no purpose of now focusing on the tooth because there is no pain and anything he prescribed may conflict with clonazepam.

September 9, 2001
Pain on tooth started to reappear. Pain levels were from 2 to 3.

September 10, 2001
BMS pain dropped dropped more than 80-90% of original. It went down to 0.5 and that lasted for less than 1/2 hour. Tooth pain on the other hand was getting higher, going up to 4.

September 11, 2001
BMS pain still very low, almost 0 but the tooth pain increased more, going up to 5 or 6.

September 12, 2001
BMS reoccured again, perhaps 2, staying at the 50% or more level of improvement from the original. The pain on tooth became worse, at one point going up to 8 that I had to make an emergency appointment for the next day.

Saw the dentist and he wanted to fill up one of the cavities and gave me anesthesia which wasn't affective at all because the drilling hurt. The dentist was obviously troubled by this so he gave another shot of anesthesia and covered my mouth, held the particular tooth, upper left tooth # 15 (tooth on upper row, second from left) and cut one of the nerves because he said that his is the nerve that was causing all the pain. He said to make an appointment with a specialist who does root canal procedure, to perform the procedure on upper left tooth # 15.

Early in the morning, I had the taste of the drilling in my mouth and about 15 hours later, I got the taste of the anesthesia (novocain) and told the dentist and heasked me to take the antibiotic rinse Clorhexadin for safetly before sleep and in the morning after breakfast, due to his struggle with the anesthesia when taking out one of the nerves of upper tooth # 15. He said he never had this problem before and in my own opinion, of all the dentists I've come across, he's the best and if the best has a problem, something must be terribly wrong.

Now the taste in my mouth is that of iodine. Told dentist and he said that's normal, because of the filling in the tooth. I thought perhaps it may be some nerve problem again.
