Paul and Jeni met in 1992 at John N. Given Public School in the Grade 7 French Immersion class.  Paul was a very handsome boy and caught all the young ladies' eyes.  Jeni, however, thought he was too cool for her, especially since she had braces and glasses that year.  Little did Jeni know, Paul had still noticed her.  At the end of the year Paul decided to return to his old school and they parted their ways for several years.  Even though they rarely spoke, there was a mutual interest between them.  By the end of their Grade 12 year they were good friends and managed to keep in touch over the phone every few months while Jeni lived in Waterloo. 

It was July 2000 when Jeni and Paul suddenly saw each other in a different light.  They began dating and within a few months were in a serious relationship. At first, it was a long distance relationship since Paul was working in London and Jeni was going to school in Waterloo.  Within the year Paul had found work in Waterloo as well.  After a year and a half, they started looking for engagement rings and when the time was right, he popped the question.  During their 18 month engagement they grew even closer and are looking forward to spending their lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spicer.
