Chess Puzzles
Chess problems are a whole other world from over-the-board play. They are composed as works of art, and often are positions that would rarely, if ever, emerge in actual play. Working these puzzles is a pleasure in its own right, but may also help improve your game (since you are training your mind to think along chess lines).
All of the problems on this site are: White to move, mate in two. This means that in the diagrammed position, it is White's turn to move. After White makes the proper move, no matter what Black moves, White can them checkmate Black on the next move.
These problems have only one solution (only one of the possible first moves for White can result in checkmate no matter what Black does).
