Beverages in a Jar
These can be put in jar's with gift tags. 
Minted Cocoa Coffee Mix 
1-1/2 cups non-dairy creamer  
1 cup sugar  
1/2 cup instant coffee granules or crystals  
1/2 cup cocoa  
dash of salt  
6 hard peppermint candies crushed 
In large bowl or container, combine all ingredients; mix well. Store in tightly covered container. To serve, spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons mix into cup or mug; fill with boiling water. Stir to blend. If desired, garnish with whipped  
Hot Chocolate Jar Mix 
3 cups sugar 
1 cup non fat dry milk 
2 cups instant chocolate mix(such as Nestles)  
2/3 cup non dairy creamer(such as coffeemate) 
Mix well and store in airtight container.For gift giving pack into jar size of your choice with a gift tag or label that reads 3 tablespoons per cup of hot water.

Holiday Bean Soup Mix 

1 pound dried black beans 
1 pound dried red beans 
1 pound dried kidney beans 
1 pound dried navy beans 
1 pound dried great northern beans 
1 pound dried baby lima beans 
1 pound dried large lima beans 
1 pound dried pinto beans 
1 pound dried green split peas 
1 pound dried yellow split peas 
1 pound dried black-eyed peas 
1 pound dried green lentils 
1 pound dried brown lentils 

Combine beans in a very large bowl. Pour two cups of bean mix into  
pretty jars ( 16-oz.) jars holds two cups of bean mix. Give with  
the following recipe for holiday bean soup. 
You could also layer the beans in the jar for prettier effect. Just  
put a little of each of the beans in until you fill it to the top.  

Attach To Jar: 
Holiday Bean Soup beans from jar 
1 smoked ham hock 
2 cans ( 14.5 oz each ) stewed tomatoes 
1 medium onion chopped 
1 clove garlic minced 
1 bay leaf 
6 cups water 
1/4 cup fresh parsley 
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 
2 teaspoons salt  
1 teaspoon chili powder 
1 teaspoon cumin seed 
 Cover beans with water and soak overnight. Drain beans and place in  
a stockpot. Add ham hoc, tomatoes, onion, garlic, bay leaf and 6 cups  
of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, cover & simmer 1  
hour or until beans are tender.Remove bay leaf before serving.  
Serve warm. Makes 11 cups of soup.  

Layered Soup Mix In A Jar  (Friendship Soup Mix) 
1/2 cup dry split peas 
1/3 cup beef bouillon granules 
1/4 cup pearl barley 
1/2 cup dry lentils 
1/4 cup dried minced onion 
2 teaspoons italian seasoning 
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice 
1/2 cup alphabet macaroni or other small  macaroni ( can be put in a  
plastic sandwich  bag to make it easier for the recipient to get out 
of jar )   

 ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: 
 I pound ground beef 
 3 quarts water 
 1 can ( 28 ounces ) diced tomatoes, undrained  
 In a 1-1/2-pint jar, layer the first eight ingredients in the order  
listed. Seal tightly. Yield: 1  batch.  
 Instructions to attach to jar: 
 Friendship Soup Mix: 
To prepare soup: Carefully remove macaroni from top of jar and  
set aside. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown beef; drain.  
Add the water, tomatoes and soup mix; bring to a boil Reduce heat;  
cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add reserved macaroni;  cover and  
simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until macaroni, peas, lentils and  
barley are tender. Yield: 16 servings ( 4 quarts) 

Cookies in a Jar
There are several variations of the cookie mix in a jar - scroll down to see them all. The concept is the same for all of them: layer the dry ingredients in a clean, dry mason jar, packing each layer down tight with a spoon. Print out the recipe and attach it to the jar. You can tie a wooden spoon to the jar, too. These make great gifts! 
Oatmeal Raisin 

1/2 cup sugar 
1/2 cup packed brown sugar 
1 cup flour 
1 teaspoon baking powder 
1/4 teaspoon salt 
1 1/4 cup raisins 
1 1/4 cup oats 

1. Combine flour, salt and baking soda - stir well. Place flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight so everything will fit in the jar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.)Add other ingredients, one item at a time, packing each layer down. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You can add a personalized label, if you wish. As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to

Whip 1/2 cup of butter until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg and 1 tsp. vanilla and beat until mixed. Stir in the ingredients from this jar until well combined. Drop 1 Tbsps of dough on a greased cookie sheet. 
 Bake for 15  minutes at 350 degrees F. Share with a friend. 

Chocolate Cookies 

1 1/2 cups white sugar 
2 cups all-purpose flour 
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 
1 teaspoon baking soda 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 
Instructions: 
1. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda - stir well. Place flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight so everything will fit in the jar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.) Add other ingredients, one item at a time, packing each layer down. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You can add a personalized label,if you wish. As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid with a piece of ribbon.

Peanut Butter Cookies 

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter chips or chopped peanuts

one item at a 
time, packing each layer down. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You

3/4 cup packed brown sugar 
1/2 tsp. baking soda 
1 cup chocolate chips 

Instructions: 
1. Combine flour and baking soda - stir well. Place flour  
mixture in a clean 
mason jar. Pack down tight so everything will fit in the jar.  
(Use a spoon or a mallet.) Add white sugar and pack down, 
 then add brown sugar and pack down. Finally, add chocolate chips. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You  
can add a personalized label, if you wish. 
As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the jar, too. These make great gifts!

3/4 cup raisins 
3/4 cup chopped nuts 

Instructions: 
1. Combine flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda - stir well.  
Place flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight 
 so everything will fit in the ar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.) Add  
jother ingredients, one item at a time,packing each layer down. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You  
can add a 
personalized label, if you wish. As an added touch, tie a  
wooden spoon to  
the lid with a piece of ribbon.

Whip 3/4 cup of butter or shortening until light and fluffy.

1/2 cup applesauce and beat until mixed. Stir in the

Spicy Ginger Cookies 
4 cups flour 
3/4 teaspoon baking soda 
1 teaspoon ground ginger 
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
1/2 cup molasses 
1 1/4 cups sugar 

Instructions: 
1. Combine flour, spices, salt, and baking soda - stir well.  
Place flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight  
 so everything will fit in the jar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.)  
Add other ingredients, one item at a time,packing each layer down. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You  
can add a personalized label, if you wish. As an added  touch, 
tie a wooden spoon to he lid with a piece of ribbon. 

Print out the following instructions on a gift card and tape the card to the jar:  
Whip 1 cup of butter or shortening until light and fluffy. Add  
1/2 cup

Sugar Cookies 

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 
1 1/4 cups white sugar 
1/4 cup colored decorating sugar 
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 
1/2 teaspoon salt 

Instructions: 
1. Combine flour, salt and baking powder - stir well. Place  
flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight so  
everything will fit in the jar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.) Stir  
sugar and colored sugar together, add to the jar. 
2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You  
can add a personalized label, if you wish. As an added touch, 
tie a wooden spoon to the lid with a piece of ribbon. 

Print out the following instructions on a gift card and tape the card to the jar: 
Whip 2/3 cup of butter or shortening until light and fluffy.  
Add 2 eggs, 2 
Tbsp. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla and beat until mixed. Stir in the  
ingredients 
from this jar until well combined. Roll into small balls and  
place on a 
greased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork or  
the bottom 
of a glass. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Share with a
