Kugelis
5 Lg potatoes (old potatoes are best)
1 Onion
1 Tsp salt
1/8 Tsp pepper
1/2 Cup skim milk, hot
6 Slices of bacon
2 Eggs, beaten
Peel and grate potatoes and onion.
Cook bacon until crisp. Crumble bacon and save the bacon fat.
Add salt, pepper, milk, eggs, and crumbled bacon to the potato mixture.
Place 4 tbsp of bacon fat in the bottom of a 12x7-inch pan.
Pour potato mixture into a baking dish to a depth of at least 2
1/2
inches.
Bake at 425
o
F for 15 minutes, lower heat to 375
o
F and bake 45 minutes longer.
Cut into squares and serve hot with sour cream.
