Poached Pears
3 Winter pears

Cup water
1/4
Cup granulated sugar or honey
1/2
Lemon
Pour water and sugar into a small saucepan and boil over high heat 3 minutes.
Quarter and core pears (do not peel) and slice into pan. Squeeze juice of
1/2
lemon over pears.
Cover pan and simmer pears over medium heat 6 to 7 minutes.
Serve pears at room temperature with syrup from pan.
Yield: 2 servings.
