Grandma's Pie Crust Cookies


Pie Crust
2 Cups flour
1 Tsp salt
1 Cup shortening
1/2 Cup ice water
  • Sift together flour and salt.
  • Cut in shortening. Add ice water.
  • Mix well and chill.

  • Yield: 2 pie crusts.

Cinnamon and sugar mixture
  • Preheat oven to 350oF.
  • Keeping one pie crust in the refrigerator, roll out the other pie crust into a 10x7 rectangle.
  • Spread butter or margarine over crust up to 1/4 inch from the edges.
  • Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  • Roll up crust starting at the shorter edge to give a 10-inch long roll.
  • Slice roll into 1/2-inch slices.
  • Repeat with other pie crust.
  • Place slices on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake until golden brown.

  • Yield: approximately 40 cookies.
