Preparation


Uses

   8-12 hours

Apples

Pare, core and cut in 3/8" rings.  Pretreat

Applesauce, pies, snacks, dumplings and fritters.

Apricots


  12-16 hours


Cut in half, remove pit and turn inside out or cut in quarters.  Pretreat

Desserts, muesli, meat dishes, pies and suces.

Bananas

Peel, cut in 3/8" slices or divide lengthwise.

    12-16 hours

Snacks, baby food, cookies granola and banana bread.

Blueberries


Wash and remove stems, Freeze to crack skins.

  12-16 hours


Breads, baked goods, snacks, ice cream, yogart and muesli.

Cherries

Wash, remove stems and pit.

    20-26 hours

Breads, baked goods, and snacks.

Flavorings when
Powdered

Peel, if desired, Slice 3/8" thick.

   12-16 hours

Citrus Fruit *

Leave whole and remove stems.

Raisins: use in baked goods, cereals and snacks

Grapes

    24-32 hours

Kiwi

Peel and slice 3/8" to 1/2" thick.

   13-17 hours

Snacks.

Melons

     12-16 hours

Snacks.

Remove skin and seeds.  Slice 1/2" thick.

    12-16 hours

Snacks, deserts and baked goods.

Wuarter or slice 3/8" thick to 1/2" thick.
Pretreat.

Nectarines

   14-18 hours

Snacks, breads, cobblers, cookies and granola

Peaches

Peel if desired.  Halve or quarter.

Peel, core and slice 3/8" thick.   Pretreat.

Snacks, breads, fritters, cookies and granola.

Pears

   12-16 hours

Peel, core and slice 3/8" to 1/2" thick.

    12-20 hours

Snacks and baked goods.

Pineapple

   12-20 hours

Snacks, breads, muffins, cookies and granola

Halve or quarter and remove pit.

Plums and Prunes

   10-14 hours

Wash and halve or slice 1/2" thick.

Snacks, cereals, baked goods, cookies and granola.

Strawberries

Dip fruit in coconut, honey, spices, cinnamon, or even Jello
powder for special treat.
