Casters |
Casters- The Caster gun is an old, antiquated technology. The Caster is still a weapon to be feared. It is especially effective against Tao magic of the Kei pirates because of the different technological base. Versus other technology of the same era, the Caster gun does not fair very well as the effect can actually cancel each other out. The Caster fires various shells, each having a different effect. This is because the Caster spells are in fact magic spells encased in bullet form. The action of firing them from the Caster unleashes the spell effect. There are 20 types of Caster shells and it is said that the most powerful of all shells can be found on the Planet Tenrei. These "Ultimate" shells are so powerful that they require a huge amount of energy from whoever is firing the gun, and firing several in a short period of time could prove fatal. Gene Starwind and Ron MacDougall are the only characters we ever see wielding Casters, almost certainly because of the rarity of ammunition. Both being very expensive and hard to come by, someone using a Caster must take great care to ensure that they don't use up all their ammo supply. While some weapon dealers like Fred Luo, may occasionally come across old stocks of Caster shells, they become harder and harder to find, making life difficult for those who choose a Caster as their weapon. |

Projectiles |
Projectile Weapons- Despite advanced technology that allows faster than light travel, artificial intelligence, and bio andoids, the longtime standby of seemingly outdated projectile based weapons is still around. Against "normal" targets, such as non-augmented humans, they are still quite effective, as well as being affordable to own and use on a daily basis. Unlike the antique shells used in a Caster gun, ammunition for handguns and other shell firing weapons are still produced, making them easy to acquire. Shell firing wepons have not advanced much since humans first took to space, still loading ammunition via a clip or inserted individually (a la shotguns), occasionally bearing laser sights and other aiming enhancements, but they are simple enough to be easily maintainable and cheap to acquire. Projectile weapons are, of course, banned on all space stations, as a stray round could quite easily puncture the hull, killing everyone on board. In addition to his Caster, which must be used sparingly, Gene also packs various handguns and other projectile weapons for less powerful enemies |
Rocket and Missiles- Another mainstay in the Outlaw arsenal are rocket and missle based weapons. Coming in various forms with different capabilities, all are similar in that some self-propelled projectile is fired from a barrel, after which it flies towards a target and, upon impact, explodes. Most man-portable weapons of this type are "dumb fire", in that there is no onboard guidance system, unlike the missiles used on ships. |

Autonomous Weapons Platforms- The Space Forces have been developing automated weapons systems, that being an artificial intelligence powered machine, armed with weapons that can be sent after targets independently. Ron MacDougall found himself in posession of several such units, and used them during his ambush of Gene. These specific models, appearing to be robotic cats, were able to distract Gene and company just long enough, but they were little match for Aisha's strength, Suzuka's skill, and Gene's large stockpile of weapons. |
