FIRECRAFT
By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel by day or night. Exodus 13:21
Wood is categorized into three sizes: tender, kindling, and fuel.
Tinder is the smallest, the thickness of a wooden match or thinner.
Examples of tinder might be; wood shavings, small twigs, and pine needles.

Kindling is the next size. It ranges in thickness from a wooden match to finger width.

Fuel is the largest size. Fuel sizes are finger width and larger.

Knowing what
type of wood to use is also important.
Softwoods such as pine or fir burn rapidly.
Hardwoods, such as oak, maple, and hickory, burn more slowly, providing a longer lasting bed of coals.
Three things to make a fire:
1. Air
2. Spark
3. Fuel
