Can you explain why some students complain so much when they have to learn the rudiments of music, theory?  They prefer the finished product; listening to what others have created. Discuss.

I guess students perfer the finished product because its more relaxing. I would perfer to write a song, but most of the time I listen to completed song. It soungs more professional, and i always find a way to relate a song to my life! As much as i like to write songs, listening to another song is a lot more stress free!!! Thats my interpetation of this question!!! A compleated song is just easier!!

I agree with Kamiie alot of people dont really wana go trough the whole process of writing out a whole song step by step most just want to listen to one that has been writen already because they could relax to it better and it sounds more profesinal like how Kamiie said and some are just really lazy i think

ii completely agree with kamie shes right a complete song is much bettr than writing one because it more stressful trying to right one when a song thats already finished is done and is a good song and it means something thats why a complete song is more better

I agree with kamie. I agree with her because i wouldn't want to stress on learning about learning the rudiments of music, theory. I would rather prefer the finished product listening to what others had created, because it sounds more professional. I also agree with Jonathan when he say that some people are lazy. I'm not personal lazy it's just that when I write a song it's when an idea pops up in my head, and that can happen when ever it want to. So that's why I think that some students would rather use finish products that others listen to, instead of learning the rudiments of music, theroy.

I agree with everyone above me. I personaly believe that no one really cares about how the artist came about writting the song,or the steps involved in doing so. They just want to lay back and relax and listen to the final product of the artist peice. It is in this part that the song is completed and professional, and people can now listen to what the artist is trying to talk about. Besides, no one(not personalized)really cares about how the song was made. They just want to hear the song! You know what I mean!? It's like they say, it's not how you got there, it's the getting there that counts. (It's actually the reverse. I made that up!)

I agree with Joseph but, i think people should try and learn how to create music. I say this statment beacause what happens when that person what to write music. Then the wouldn't know how to because they did not took their time to try to learn the concepts of music. That's my opinion.

the thing is we dont want to sit down and learn write a song. Learning how to and where things are supposed to go its hard so we rather listen to the final produce

I agree with Kamiie and Jonathan because some people can be lazy to write a song, they just prefer listening to one. But what if in real life we were asked to write a song, what would we do or say. So I prefer to do both, write a song and listen.

I agree with joseph. It is true people don't care how they came up with the song or how they created it they just want to listen to it when its done. And I also agree with kamala, its better listening to someone else song.

I think students complain because it's hard work trying think up something to write a song on, unless you already have an idea in your head and you know what you are going to be writing/composing about. But when you hear something that is already finished and put together and organized, you feel satisfied. Some people are shy and don't want anyone to see their work because they believe that people will make fun of them for it and that their work isn't adequate. So when they hear somebody else's work they feel that it is better than what you could have made, and that you could never be that good.

The reason why students rather listen 2 music that is a finish product is that its caused to see that students is anticipation for new songs to come out instead of having to make music them selves..

I rather write poems and make music out of it. I think that people say this because we dont play instruments in our class so people should complain. People would rather listen to music than learn music. And I rather listen and write music.

Some students complain so much about learning the rudiments of music because for some it’s a totally new skill. Some people have never seen or heard of any of the material we’re learning in class. So that’s why they complain because they really don’t to learn more new things. Also, some students may complain because they flat out just don’t want to learn about music and feel as though they won’t ever need to use it in the future. Students prefer listening to the finished work of someone else because they feel as though they can’t be judged if the music isn’t good. Listening to someone’s work is always easier then having someone listen to what you have created.

I think students, like me, are not used to writing our own music. There are some people who can write down anything that pops in their head. Their ideas can create something beautiful. Being that not everyone is like that, it’s harder for them to create music. They probably never learned how. It is possible that if each student learned the rudiments of music, they’ll be able to write their own material. However, it’s much easier to listen to the finished product.

I agree with Ivon. She is correct, student do rather listen to finish music instead of music that then make it themselves is that students see it as they don't want to wait a long time to hear music. So they see it as whats the big deal to make music instead of listening from someone who made it.As Shaakira said that she rather write poems and make music from there.I agree with that to I love to listen 2 new and old songs because it brings out the joy of it as in for writing songs and poems yourself even better. Its that ur able 2 express yourself through your own kind or writing then listeing someone elses expressions.

Mr. Lawson
Writing down your thoughts could be the first creative way to write the lyrics. You can make your poems into songs. Have you ever tried to create your own rhythm with the computer? You should try; it may bring out your creative side. Never be afraid to try out new things. You may surprise yourself.

I agree with what Ivon said I don't really like making or writing music basically because I don't have enough talent for that. But I wouldn't want to write music because its a long process. I think that is why many singers make other people write the songs for them, we live in a fast paced world and the more time you take to write a song the less money coming in. I haven't ever tried to make my own musical piece, it would be a different experience.

I agree with Kamala, the finished product is stress free. You don't have to worry about what to write or anything. It's easier. The easy way out is what everyone wants. That's like saying, "here's 1000 dollars you can either work for it fairly or jus cheat your way around to get the money" most people would cheat.

Period 8 Ivon Salas:
Mr. Lawson what do you mean by creating our own insrumental piece on the computer. I have no idea what that means so please explain. I understand why some people don’t want to learn about the basics of music but music helps so many people express themselves. A poem is just a song without music in the background. So people who like to write poetry can benefit from leaning to write music, just to add it to their poems. Another reason people may like to listen to the finished piece of music of some else is because people like to feel as though they relate to someone else’s problems. Writing their own music may make them feel uncomfortable. But that is no excuse too not learning music because it’s very important.

Based on what I believe, students complain so much because they do you like to write a song from step to step; the whole composition of the song. For example, I like to listin to finish product because it gives a relaxing sensation, if that makes sense. Anyhow, I see no problem for complaining. Its not like your taking a math exam.

i think we complain because the majority of us wants to get out the easy way and really dont want to be working so hard . another reason why they might complain is because it can tend to get boring. we should find a more fun way to learn to keep students interested in the work so we could get better grades and you wouldnt be hearing complaints any more.

i believe that the reason why people do not like to write music is maybe because they cannot think of anything to write or maybe they just dont like it like they say ones lost is another mans gain in this situation the person who doesnt want to write will find a passion and someone who does like to write will probobly go far with there writings.
