The Boxer was developed in the late 19th century in Bavaria.One theory seggests that a type of dog called the Bullenbeiszer & another,the Barenbeiszer were the main ancestors.they were later crossed with Bulldogs,among others,to create the Boxer as we know today.The Boxer has gain enormous popularity both as a guard dog as well as a family pet.

The general appearenceof the Boxer can be descibed as a Mastiff-like dog,of medium size, both very powerful & elegant.The Boxer is always ready to work or play,and has an abundance of energy.It has a reputation for its courage & discipline,thus it makes a good guard dog.The Boxer is also known as being affectionate,loyal & very good with children.
