DAY 1

DAY 2

DAY 3

Having taken a group photo together with the sign board, we begin our trekking to our campsite.

We had our breakfast and warming up. One guy one gal, alternately we began our climb up to the main falls. Melvin and Anthony didn’t join us as Melvin had to look after the campsite and Anthony lost his specs

Aren’t we glad to see the flat road and some signs of civilization of the pavilions again after some time, which means that we can all have a good meal and a good wash? But it was still a long walk before we saw the traffic, and Wee Jin started his ‘famous’ sentence for the trip, "Are we there yet?" (inspiration from an advertisement) & Melvin kept telling Winnie that we are reaching soon, another 5 more minutes. Melvin, your 5 minutes is really very elastic…….

THE SITE OF FENGYUN---- why the name ‘feng yun’ is because there’s this small little waterfall and we can swim over and stand up on rocks and let the water run down on our backs like Jacuzzi. The act is just like the movie starring Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng, which had a scene just like this. We really had fun over there but our poor Anthony lost his glasses here when he was trying out the ‘feng yun’, and the current swept his specs away. Thus we have the birth of our Mr. Blind Man (Anthony) for the trip.

Part of the climb to the main fall was indeed very challenging and thanks to the help of everyone that we managed it. As a sort of an ‘encouragement’, we always said that "if ever we fell down, the most is being washed by the river downstream and Melvin and Anthony can fish us up".

A picture of the guys eating peanuts that Wee Eong brought before our first proper meal after 2 days of canned food and instant noodles. Well, the peanuts do taste nice especially when one is feeling hungry & it is a high energy food which comes in handy during the walk.

DINNER TIME----We sure felt hungry after playing at the ‘feng yun’, and it’s dinnertime. A cooking competition we had among the groups, which the results were not known. But who cares coz we had our dinner of pasta, scrambled eggs, rice with baked beans and our famous mashed potato etc. Did we have our longan or lychee that we tried freezing in the river? Something to note: the river was our natural cooler, we tried cooling hot milo there so we can have ice milo. We put can desert there to chill. The river is the life of the whole trip.

But the climb was really worth it because the main falls is very nice. It was about 8 stories high. We had our lunch with the main falls just in front of us. Firstly we had grapes as our appetizer, and had a few rolling down into the river. Wonder if Melvin and Anthony downstream, saw the grapes we ‘sent’ them. Just as we were about to lunch together with the scenic view, we discovered that we did not bring our bread along. Thus we only had tuna, breakfast bar, nuts and water.

I sure enjoyed the trip, especially with the company of the group people, Anthony, Grace, Irving, Melvin, Winnie, Irving, Jacob and Wee Jin. And I hope the rest of you too enjoy the trip too…

'ENTERTAINMENT' AFTER DINNER'------ all of us squeezed inside the girls’ tent and began our talk for the night. Can’t really remember what we talk about except the ‘big fish story’. However, we sure had quite a few visitors for the night which include 2 frogs that came jumping in and both landed on me (this is how I became the frog attracter), and a bug which flew in and scared both Jacob and Wee Jin. And Jacob was really paranoid of the bug that he nearly squashed our Winnie into a pancake. Oh yeah, we also played the ‘panda’ game.We girls tried playing a few games of cards after the guys went to rest, but we soon felt tired and sleepy too. That’s how we ended the first day of trek, with the ‘birth’ of Mr. Blind Man (Anthony, who lost his specs during ‘feng yun’), the mosquitoes attracter (Winnie, who got the most mosquitoes bites) and the frog attracter (me)......but that's not the end of our trip, the highlight of Berkelah is on the 2nd day.

The Closest Distance to the Main Fall----We went for a swim and went near to the waterfall. This photo above is taken with Wee Jin’s underwater camera. Quite nice isn't it?? One of my favorite pictures. So next time if going outdoor again, and afraid to bring your camera, can try buying KODAK underwater disposable one.

A photo taken after the swim.

The terrain to the main fall is rather rough, and slippery especially during rainy season. Hope you can have a rough gauge here from this picture above. The cliff can be quite high, thou' the picture does not show because I cropped it. So have a good pair of sandals, and also must have confidence (that's what Wee Eong told me while he led me through the climb) But, thanks to everyone, we got back safe and sound.
