MY
CHILDHOOD @ LIM CHU KANG
i
was considered very lucky to be able to experience the KAMPONG/village
life for 7 years before i moved to flats. guess now such chances are
very very rare for the younger generations as Singapore has become so
urbanized.

we had
a fruit plantation where we grow our own rambutans, durians and papayas...
my mom
would climb up to the tree, plucked the rambutans & the 3 of us would
collect the rambutans that she threw down
my
grandma reared pigs...i loved the piglets but hated the big black ugly boar... |
we
had dogs as well... |
as
children, we always like to act like adults...so we sat on motorbikes and
cars that the adults drove |
anything that was under the
sun can be our toys
KAMPONG
life was very fun...my house had a huge front space which was converted
to a badminton court so we could play badminyon all day |
i
remembered i always tagged along with my sister & brother to catch
fishes in the drain and spiders.

sometimes the older ones
were really irritated by me...but they still adore me

&
that's my childhood story |
