Please complete the following.  The compilation of these five parts will equal two test grades, and each area will be graded on content, theme, creativity, and presentation (neatness, timeliness).  Five areas to grade, 40 pts. each; 10 pts. for content, theme, creativity, and presentation; TWO test grades.

1. You should thoroughly outline Chapter 36 and begin (1st five pages) Chapter 37.
2. You should complete the study Guide for Chapter 36.
3. In an essay, identify at least 3 major strategic military decisions of WWII and describe what made them “major decisions”.  You may also describe the delicate situation of attempting to wage war on two fronts, while at the same time making decisions that would please both the Soviets and British.
4. Identify and describe the controversy over using the atomic bomb.  Describe the justification for using it, while at the same time analyzing the events of the war against Japan and our “island hopping” campaign.  Write that part in note form, and use these notes to write a letter to Harry S Truman outlining your support for or against the bomb.
5.  Find an interesting way to describe America’s domestic response to WWII, including the roles of women and minorities.  How did our response differ from WWI?  You may include and describe researched photographs, create a newspaper article, develop a marketing campaign with commercials in print, audio, and or video which help your description.  You may create a PowerPoint presentation or other computer program, a brochure, or simply write an essay.  Use your creativity to knock my socks off.

This may look like a lot, but if you do one hour of work a day and make sure that you do it each day, you will be able to finish this with no problem and relatively painlessly.  You can even take the weekends off, if you budget your time correctly.  However, if you wait until last minute, you will curse me up and down.  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
