I had been really looking forward to this show for a long time.  I picked up the StayGold and To See You Broken demos when Champion came down.  I havn't really ever heard a demo like that of StayGolds, I dont really know what to say except.... amazing!!!!  They are so good.  And To See You Broken being an all girl band, makes me respect them automatically.  But on top of that they are an okay band, kinda slow but they have a lot of good stuff to day, and being all girls, it gives the viewer or listener a different angle to look at things.  Okay so BearTrap was first, I had never seen them before, what a mistake.  They got a great response from the crowd.  Huge circle pits and good mosh.  Their singer was a little stationary, but the band is young and they will only get better.  They also covered a  Minor Threat song which Milo [WIT] sang.  Oh also Javier filled in on drums for them.  To See You Broken was up next, I was really stoked because I had never seen an all girl edge band before.  I was expecting a better crowd reaction, everybody was kinda like.... uh.  I don't know if it was because it was a girl band, or because they music was a little slower but.  I thought they ruled.  I have a lot of respect for them, just for getting on the stage, in front of a majority filled male audience, and spilling their guts.  So StayGold was up next, and they are just amazing bottom line.  This band brings so much to the table, good fast punk influencial music with super breakdowns, and killer lyrics.  All the girls from To See You Broken were wrecking shit, I mean all of them were moshing for the whole StayGold set, it ruled to see girls out there!!!!  StayGold played all five songs from their demo and a couple songs from an upcoming split 7" on Indecision Records.  The Hoods were up next, and they are now on Victory Records, so congratulations to the Hoods.  Anyways, it had been a while since they last played around here.  And it never really realized how much I was waiting for them to play, because right after their first song I was going crazy, and so was everybody else.  Apperantly everyone brought their moshing shoes.  Bunch of crazy ninja's, haha!!!  But everybody was showing respect for everybody, so it was good.  The Hoods' new stuff is really good, bringing the heavy mosh.  Up next was Whaterver It Takes, they played 2 or 3 new ones I'm not sure, but the songs are good, just good hardcore songs period.  They ended with "mosh nard" and "two words".  Good job guys.  I think they are finally getting some shirts in so go to their website and check it out. www.oocities.org/witxnardcore
DieHard Youth was up next, they played a short set, because it was getting late.  But it didn't take anything away, they ruled like always.  If you havn't checked them out you really need to because you are missing out if you havn't.  Go to their website at www.diehardyouth.com
Until next time later.
