The show was really in the new room that is next to the main building at Skatestreet.  It is a rad place, it is big and it has a cool stage.  The sound is a little hollow, because the room is so big but it is cool.  This show was 88th Mark's last show. There was a lot of "Metal kids" there, which I thought was a good thing because I thought there would be a lot of crazy ninja moshers there but it ended up being only the NARD keeping the dance floor alive the whole night so...It was kinda funny, because there was all of these T.O. kids there dressed to kill but they were all talk and no mosh. haha But that information will be helpful later so read on.
This Day Forward was supposed to play first but they hadn't shown up yet.  So Taken decided to go up.  Taken is a "metal, emo, hardcore" band.  They are really solid and they are really talented musicians.  Extremely good musicians.  And they msic is so emotional that it is a good blend, and fits this band great!!  Their guitar player couldn't even finish some of their songs because he broke down in tears a few times....  I don't know what else to say except they played a great set!!!  You should check this band out because you won't be let down.  Go to www.taken-music.com
Okay so next up was Death Is Your Language, they came from San Francisco I think.  Well actually they played a show with GCF the day before and I guess GCF asked them to play that show in Ventura.  So in between bands they had music playing and it was so loud that I didn't realize that the band was playing.  So I went inside during the second song I think.  I would clasify DIYL as a thrashy band.  But with a little metal influence.  I dont know...  I didn't like them that much but, that is just not my type of music so.....
Up next was Good Clean Fun.  GCF is not my favorite band, I get bored listening to them and watching them.  Their singer told like a ten minute story in between one of their songs about Santa Barbra or something.  And in between every other song he talked a lot.  It kinda of got me out of the "flow" of the music, so it turned me off.  And it also seamed like he preached a lot, so that was another turn-off.  They covered "Fight to unite" by Youth Brigade.  And they also covered a Gorilla Biscuits song.  So that is about it for them.
Up next was This Day Forward................I was talking to one of the guitar players after their set and I guess they just showed up in California like 30 minutes before they were supposed to play.  It is hard to put into words how amazing that band is.  I really really enjoyed them a lot.  I mean they just absolutely wrecked!!!!!  Killer breakdowns.  Two words.....  FUCKING MOSH.  But again I missed like the first song because the music was so loud.  And when I got in the room everyboby was just standing there, not moving or anything, so I was like oh.  But then Albert Moshhard came in and cleared it out, and then it fucking broke loose.  After they finished pretty much everyone in the room was screaming for them to play one more, thats how good they were.  But they ended up not playing another one bummer.  If you are into crazy metal-emo then This Day Forward is a
must!!!!   I would definetely recomend this band for anyone.
Okay 88th Mark was next becaus eit was their last show.  I don't know when Metallica started to play in the hardcore scene but......  Thses guys are just straight metal.  Very slow and muddy.  Their singer sounds like he is dieing.  It sounds horrible.  I can hang with the music but once I hear the vocals it kills me, to hear how bad it sounds.  So being their last show their fans and the band brought all kinds of "props"[cones, metal chairs, bumpers, and all kinds of other shit] inside the building.  When 88th Mark started to play they being the T.O. kids started to throw all of it around, well they ended up hitting Beavis when he was trying to mosh.  What the fuck.  They are not going to get away with that shit so some people stepped up and well Javier wasa trying to stop the fight from starting so they tried to sock him or something and an "unnamed" person hit him with a bat.  They thought it was Javier so they were pissed off eveb more and they said that they were going to stab Javier with a knife.  So he ran out and they chased him and o whole buch of other shit happened.  But they deserved it, we were just trying to have fun, but it always has to be someone who ruins it.  But the NARD ended up wrecking T.O. so....
