| venue: Ojai Womens Club date: 9-2something-01 bands: Holier Than Thou, In Control, The Missing 23rd, Dr. Know Oh man!!!!!!!!! Since I heard that IC was coming out with their new L.P. I was looking froward to this show, actually I think a lot of people were, basically this was the show I was looking froward to the most lately. To tell you the truth I dont even really jock any other band on this show except IC. I would have paid 5 dollars just to see them, thats how stoked I was. Anyways, when I got there, there was already a lot of people there, there ended up being about........ 150-200 people there, it was a great turn-out. So Holier Than Thou was up first, bringing the fast circle pits and old school skatepunk, this would be about the 3 or 4th time that I have seen these guys and every time I see them they get better!! They are one of those bands that kinda grows on you more and more as you listen to them. I dont even really like the style of music they play, but I watched their set and I was suprised at the response that they got, tons of people cicle pitting and having a good time, as oppose to the other times that they have played where beavis was the only one moving. Eveyone was having a good time, and it showed!! Next up was IC!! I brought my moshing shoes for IC. Ands man were they bringing it.... fuckin blowin the roof off the house! They started out with their intro and went into "another year" [i think] and evrybody was wrecking everything, just fucking shit up. Basicalyl Ic put on one of the best performances that I have ever experienced.... ever! They were playing tight, everyone was circle pitting, moshing, and sining along, and the NARD was running shit like usuall. I felt so alive when they played, like it was just amazing!! I am kind of out of words to say as to what was goingon and what I felt. If you didnt go, you really missed out. IC's new record is sssssooooo amazing, it has all the elements of a great record. Godd fast stuff, heavy mosh, super sing alongs, good backups, they even throw some acustic parts in and some guset vocals by Daniel [OMDB]. And well, its just good!!! In my opinion this record would have to be up there at the top, for record of the year! Seriously, thats how good it is, and I dont jock them just because they are from Oxnard, their record is really good, and if you dont have it go get it because it is a MUST!! I was so tired from moshing my guts out that I didnt watch The Missing 23rd. I heard they put on a good set like they always do. Dr. Know wa after them, and half wat durring their super long set I went in to watch them, and they were rockin the house like mother fuckers!! There was a lot of kids young and old circle pitting and having a good time! Anyways this is it, until next time late XXX |
