venue: Moorpark Rec. Center date: i doesnt matter [well actually i really forgot..haha] bands: Whatever It Takes, Avenged Sevenfold, 11th Hour Okay so this venue had one hardcore show before and like I suspected there was a lot of the same kids there who didnt know what hardcore was about or what people do at hardcore shows, so I was expecting some trouble. Anyways, this time they had a stage there, and it was cool, the bands didnt play on it, but I thought they could have. The show was free because the Moorpark city wont let them charge because it was a Rec. Center. Which means Avenged Sevenfold was coming from Orange County and not getting paid..... fuck, thats hardcore. Obviously they would sell merch, but still, they didnt get paid!!1 And they arent on tour or anything, they just came from Orange County to play one show, when I heard that I got pretty stoked!1 Anyways enough going on and on, Whatever It Takes was supposed to play first, Dann yended up not showing up for a long time, I think the show was supposed to start at like 7:30, but it ended up starting at like 8:30... and WIT didnt even play..Avenged Sevenfold started up first, like I said before they are from orange County. I heard their CD before the show a few times, good stuff! I would categorize them as.... actually a few different styles, they have some really fast almost straight punk songs sounding like No Use For A Name. Then they bust out with some metal part out of nowhere and your just like whoa!! Their singer could actually be a really good no hardcore singer [like he had a good voice] which tens to come out during their more emo parts. Anyways so they started out with thier intro from their CD... its pretty cool, they pulled some solos out and everyone was diggin it. Like I had suspected there was some "MTV" kids there. They thought it was their duty to wreck anyone and everyone, the Nard had to keep them in check....haha. They are not aware of what a cicle pit is, therefor there wasn't a lot of circle pit action..damn. But there was ome peopl dancing and throwing spinkicks! Much to the dissmay of the "security gaurds" . They told us to stop, like we were gonna listen, its a hardcore show... what did they expect. Anyways, I dont know anything about their songs, like the names or anything, all I can say is that it was really good and a fun time. Actually if I would have seen the guys in the band on the street, I wouldnt have suspected them to be hardcore kids. They dont look like hardcore kids... im not sure what that has to do with anything but...hhhmmm. So they finished up and Adam Hanlan was talking to some guy about not just standing on the outside and wreckin kids, I dont know the guy was crazy and he was supposedely gonna kick Adams ass. I would have liked to seen that, but Adam was being really really cool, almost too cool, he was basically telling the guy to chill out and stuff. [im not sure if that was after Avenged Sevenfold or 11th hour but it was after some band..haha] After them was 11th Hour, and I was going to cool off a little bit during their set and just watch, but when they started playing I was like fuck, I havnt seen them for a while now, and I got real into it. I was dancing their whole set and doing some weird stuff, I dont know. Adam busted some cool stage dive off the drums into the front on some people, and the cool thing was that he had to clear like 5-7 feet off the stage onto the people, it was one of the cool things of the night. Anyways 11th Hour played good, but they cut their set short to let WIT play because Danny had showed up and 11th Hour wanted WIT to play.... damn cool guys I tell you. So they started up and Danny was going crazy, but WIT sounded horrible, they werent on at all. Javier was playing with his left foot I guess. Danny did a cartwheel and he cleared out the front while playing bass, that was just about the highlight of WITs' set. anyways good show in all except for some kids, but I had a good time. late XXX |
