date: November 2nd venue: Whaerhouse Ventura bands: HeartRiot, Annihaltiion Time, Hit The Deck, Hyperstone Heist, Avenged Sevenfold, Dieahrd Youth, In Control, Whatever It Takes okay, this show review was done by a friend of mine: Anthony really cool guy, thanx a lot to him for the review, i asked him to do it because my band played, so that would have kind of felt weird to review my own band...sssoo here it is, hope you enjoy As I sit here at 5 o’clock thinking about Friday night I can’t help but smile. I didn’t know what to expect. We gave out a lot of fliers for this, I posted on the rev board, and I told many people. I wasn’t sure if there would be a lot of people. All the bands except diehard youth were not that big in the area…. YET! I got there early with Brian and Steve around 6.diehard youth crew was there. It was about another hour until the first band went on. I wasn’t to into them. But since they were known I will give them a few more listen toos. Next band was annihilation time. They reminded me of aggression. Kids circled pitted and laughed. Everyone was all smiles. Hit the deck was up next, I was amped for them. Jordan gave me the demo the week before at the zao show. I listened to it prolly everyday up until the show. So when the first chord was struck for the intro the mosh was on. Kids were going back and forth like they were typewriters. It was tough. Lots of pileons. They got a really good reaction. Next up was hyperstone heist. It was funny shit. I loved it. Right when they went into the new kind of american saint covers Blake was going off. Yelling saying fuck a lot…it was tough! Kids moved it for the songs on the demo. Blake is a really good front man. I can’t wait to see them again even though they botched a few of their songs including the one song I sing in. FUCKERS! Next band was avenged sevenfold. I was pretty bummed on all the fuckers who hung out outside. Avenged sevenfold is going to be fucking big. They bring the mosh for the toughies, they harmonize for the ladies, and they are tech for the metal kids, circle pits for punk, and 80’s buttrock for all the nerds. Im sure next time they come out more kids will move it. Next up was diehard youth. They played really fucking well. So many kids were dancing and singing along. Every time I see them I see a few more faces moving it. I love them. Next band to rock the place was whatever it takes. I bet they rocked the fucking place. Kids all over the area move shit for them. WIT plays music for everyone. They are some of the funnest kids around. It’s too bad they are breaking up. But all of them im sure will make new bands that will rip your moms ass. PEOPLE/BANDS THAT NEED THE BE THANKED: first person that comes to mind is pat from hit the deck. The show wouldn’t be possible without that guy. Heartriot, annihilation time, hit the deck, hyperstone heist, avenged sevenfold, whatever it takes, in control, Ventura kids, Oxnard kids, Ojai kids, Moorpark kids, the nice T.O kids, XblakeX, Javier, Jordan, albertmoshard, brain Oxnard, everyone who danced and rocked out to every band, anyone who rocked a costume, Xsara wilkinsX, Pina, Steve, Mike from Ventura, Jason, Xryan the sexy loveable boyX, any everyone who showed respect for the place. FUCK YOU: the people who spilt fucking beer on the ground. No fucking drinking inside shows. Do it outside. |
