venue: Ojai Womens Club date: I forgot bands: Gameover [texas], Whatever It Takes, The First Step [north carolina, Diehard Youth Another show at the Ojai Womens Club.... That place has a show every weekend, and sometimes more. It's awesome!!! This time it was a couple bands that I was unfamiliar with. I had heard a little bit of The First Step, but I had never heard of Gameover before. They were up first, it was another blazing hot day in Ojai, I think it was one of the hottest lately. So Gameover set up and started to play, except they set all their stuff on the stage but they were all off the stage. I dont know... whatever, thats cool. I was really impressed with them, they had some good circle pit action and heavy mosh, a good mix of both, which is essential, they rocked, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was impressed non the less. I picked up one of their CD's after, and you definetely need to check them out if you didn't. Go to www.gameoverhardcore.cjb.net, cool site. Their guitar player is in Far From Breaking, he plays bass. They are playing in Santa Barbara soon. Next up was Whatever It Takes, I think. [if it is out of order I am sorry I forget easy, email me and tell me] So There is not much to write here, I mean they kicked everyones ass like always. They rule... always will.... the end. The First Step was up next, they are from North Carolina. They bring the youth crew attack, which reminds me of Diehard Youth. They also happen to be the coolest guys ever, they were really intense and they had a lot of energy which is a must, thye brought it all. They seemed to get a good crowd reaction. Definetely check them out the next time they come around here. They had to leave right away after they played because they were going to go down to L.A. to play the F-minus record release show. I heard it was good so goog job guys and keep up the good work. Diehard Youth, one of my favorite bands, bringing the positive youth attack, I love it. The coolest guys in the scene right now, hands down. They have always been really good, but lately it seams they are kicking major ass, which is really good. I did an interview with them so check it out. Also go to their web page at www.diehardyouth.com. Great show great time. |
