date: 7-28-01 venue: The Living Room bands:Diehard Youth, My Luck, Far From Breaking, Whatever It Takes, Fields Of Fire Okay so you always have to be stoked going to a show to see WIT, FOF, and Diehard Youth, then you add to Texas bands in the mix, fuck ya!!!! So I went with Adam, we ended up packing 5 people in his pick-up truck. It was okay, but we had to leave two kids behind at Javiers house. Bummer.... but what could we do...... not much. We ended up showing up way early. We met the guys from Texas. They were all freakin helarious, bottom line, they were there to have a good time. It ended up being "Chain Day." All the guys wore Chain of Strength shirts. It was comedy! Everybody started to roll in, there wasn't a lot of people, but there was a good amount. I was hopping maybe there would be more people to support guys that came all the way from Texas. Anyways so the show starts, Diehard Youth was up first, they freakin rule. Andy has the killer jumps going on. All the regulars were there sing-a-long and moshing. Giving Diehard Youth the support they deserve. They ened up covering Stand Your Ground, and Aaron sang. Everyone went nuts. Then they covered Chain of Strength, but I can never remember what song so I will leave it at that. Good job guys. Okay so My Luck was up next, I wasn't really sure what to expect. So I guess that was there second show or something, I don't know. Thats what they said though. Their music wasn't really the greatest, it wasn't bad but I thought they were a little "sloppy." [not very polished] But the singer and the whole band were really intense on stage. They had a ton of energy, and good stage presence. Which I think is sometimes just as important as music. Its hard to explain, to me it just felt like the music was inside them. And it ruled. So I picked up one of their demos. Far From Breaking was up next. I guess if you come from Texas and you are in a band you automatically go nuts on stage. Far From Breaking's music was better I thought, but they too had great energy and stage presence. They had some good mosh, and circle pit action so. They ended up covering Chain of Strength too, of course, "Chain-Day", duh. I picked up one of their demos too. Whatever It Takes played next, they started out with the "Intro", and then they went into "MOSH-NARD", they got an amazing response. They played a new song in the middle of their set, and they mixed in a couple of old songs. The new song was pretty good, but I can't really remember a lot about it. They also played "Oxnard" while Jason was tuning. WIT ended with "Two Words". Fields Of Fire was last, they new stuff rules, I think they are a much better band with Jesse on guitar. So they got a really good response. Playing some new stuff and old stuff. Good shit. Until next time later. |
