Spoilers: Season 4 Buffy, Season 1 Angel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I say old chap, are you in need of some help?'
Oz looked up into the eyes of a British man, in his 20's, and very well
groomed;
*Where have I seen him before?* They both thought ...
The man pressed a business card into the teenager's hand and Oz tried to
make out what it said through the tears...
*What the hell is it? A bird? A butterfly?* Suddenly everything
clicked into place: *An Angel ! Then this must be Wesley... Cordy said he
was back in town as a Demon hunter or something...?*
'Wesley? It's me... Oz.... of Sunnydale?... Buffy's friend.... gets
hairy three nights a month?'
'Yes...YES, Willow's boyfriend,' Oz cringed '... whatever *is* the
matter with you?'
'Uh, I really don't wanna talk about it, man...But, but I heard news
of you - a Demon hunter...wow.'
Oz said, trying not to smile through his drying tears,
'No, no... a ROGUE Demon hunter is what I am, fighting Demons with
Angel and Cordelia... I say, you haven't seen Cordelia around anywhere have
you? I'm supposed to be meeting her for lunch and..'
'Sorry, man - no, look I have to go -no hard feelings ok.... see
ya.'
Oz got up and left Wesley sitting by the side of the phone booth still
talking to himself...
'That can't be healthy...'
Oz said to himself as he walked up the stairs of his apartment block.
********************************************
Buffy finished washing up the breakfast dishes from that morning and
searched for something else to do; she'd already made his bed, taken the
trash out and cleaned out the crap that was under his bed ( she found a few
things she wished that she hadn't seen under there..)
*I guess he's been alone for a few months... no girlfriend, it's
understandable... eugh!*
She was so nervous that she'd had to busy herself around the apartment,
rather than just waiting for him to come home. Now she was nervous about
what he was going to say when he saw the newly cleaned apartment... was it
*too* clean?
*********************************************
Oz stopped outside his door,
*What the...?...oh, Buffy..*
The door handle was not where it should be, it was on the floor outside his
apartment.
*Where can I buy a new door? Wait - that's not the issue here, what
do I say to Buffy? *
Oz bent down and peered through the hole in the door..
*What the hell is she doing? My washing up? Why? Is she trying to
tell me she'd be a good person to settle down with? Whoa there Slayer...
wow, she has a nice butt. How did I not notice that before? Ok, so she
hasn't changed her mind, I guess, about what she said before.. Oz... we're
goin' in..*
*********************************************
Oz opened the door and Buffy feigned surprise - she'd sensed someone outside
the door watching her and was sure it was him.
'Oz... you're back...good.'
'Hey Buffy, uh, we need to talk...yeah?'
'I guess, but it doesn't have to be one of those serious talks does
it, you know, with stern faces and stuff...?'
'I see no need for stern faces here, Buff. You've done all the work
of the house.'
Buffy smiled uncomfortably as he led her to the sofa and sat down at her
side...
'Ok, that stuff you said before... that was definitely of the good,
and I reacted over the top, and I'm sorry that I didn't believe you about
Willow 100 percent and you were ...'
Oz was stopped by Buffy's smile...
'What? Did I say something wrong?'
'No, it's just amusing when you become all un-laconic guy for once!'
'Yeah, sometimes... so what I was trying to say was that I would
like to go out on a date with you sometime, you know, we could see how it
goes and, you know, go from there? That is, if you're still interested...'
Oz looked Buffy in the eye, challenging her to say no to him..
*A challenge, huh? How can I say no to those eyes and that face...
God, he's gorgeous, Oh well, I'll just have to give in*
'You think I'm not interested when I travelled all the way here to
see you and put my feelings on the line and you say no and then yes and ...'
Buffy was cut off by Oz's stare..
*He's going to kiss me...*
He ran his fingers through her hair and put his other arm around her
shoulders, pulling her to him. Buffy parted her lips as Oz's came into
contact with them. Buffy wrapped her arms around his warm body, as he pushed
her back so she was lying horizontally. His tongue probed her mouth, gently
at first, becoming more and more passionate every second. Hands were
exploring new places, breaths were getting heavier, then someone broke
off...
'I'm so sorry, I, I have to go to..... the bathroom...'
