Oz and Buffy walked into the library. They looked tired and were badly bruised. Rupert Giles never thought that they would not survive tonight's confrontation. Well he was glad to see he was wrong. "Are you okay?" he asked the two teenagers, who looked like hell. "Well we got rid of the vampires. That means I get to sleep for once in peace." She was exhausted. This place gave her the wiggins. "Do you have a place to stay?" Oz asked the blonde who was standing before him. She was in many ways his savior. He liked her. She was courageous and showed no fear. Yet, Buffy was a survivor like him. He needed someone to talk to and maybe have some company for a night or two. "I really don't have any place to stay." Buffy shrugged her shoulders back. This was as good as any place could be with a vampire population. "You can stay at my apartment. There's more than enough room. Besides, this town is still dangerous with Xander still on the loose." "Xander's still alive..." Giles was horrified. The thought of that boy being a vampire king was just too horrible to fathom. "Relax, G man. When I'm at my full strength tommorow night, I'll give Xander a taste of Mr. Pointy." This vampire cretin didn't scare her one bit at all. Well time to get to know Oz and the layout of this town a whole lot more. They left the library together. Giles was hoping that both of them would come back tommorow. Maybe, they could bring happiness to one another. That was if Buffy, stuck around long enough. She was a drifter as her last three watchers described her.
Scene: Sunnydale Parking Lot "What's bothering you, Oz?" she asked him. There was no use in beating around the bush. She wanted to be honest with him. Life was too short for regrets. "I wish that I hadn't staked Willow. She may have been a vampire, but..." Remembering all the good times he had with her. "Let me guess, she was your girlfriend." God, he knew what it was like too. Her mother, father...Those memories still cut like a knife. "Yes." Tears coming out of his eyes. "Don't cry, Oz about it. Remember this concept, a vampire has no soul. They are completly different than the person they were." Hugging him. She hated to see sadness in anybody. Why did he have to suffer? He was so sweet and nice. "Are those your wheels?" Asking him. Besides, it was time to change the subject. "Yeah, you know this van and me have been through a lot." Remembering his first kiss with Willow. How him and Devon used to practice before the... "Hold on to those memories, Oz. Sometimes, they are all we have left in this world. I lost a lot, but it's what keeps us sane." Fighting to hold the tears back. Oz thought that behind those jade eyes of hers, she was a survivor, like he was in many ways. "Come on in. My parents are no longer around." Grimly aware of the fact that he needed them a lot more than he realized. "No, sweat. My mother died not once, but twice to me." Tears were flowing out of her eyes. "Don't cry." He couldn't stand to see her cry or any women cry. Handing her a tissue. "Thanks." Looking at him, she found a kindred spirit in him. Maybe, she would stay in Sunnydale. Buffy was put in a guest room. Oz didn't tell her much about his past. Well she didn't come straight out with her past either. Her mother ran out on both of them. Hank her father had killed her when he became...No, the memory of seeing that still sent shivers up her spine. Better to think of the present. Maybe Sunnydale would become a better place. "Umm, Buffy can I come in." The last thing he wanted to do was come in when she was naked. "Relax, I'm decent." This was his home. If he wanted to come in, well...Unsavory men was what she dealt with all her life. She could handle this. Besides he was a very sweet person. Trusting people had saved her on more than one occasion. "Just wanted to make sure everything's okay. I hope you like it here." What he wanted was a real friend that he could talk to. "Everything's fine." Buffy kissed him on the cheek. "Good night, Buffy." "Good night, Oz." Buffy woke up and saw that Oz had prepared Breakfast for her. His kitchen was beautiful. How did he afford a place like this, she wondered. "Good Morning Buffy. I hope you like Pancakes." Oz put out a plate full of pancakes on the table. "Good Morning, Oz. Yeah, I like them. Do you have any milk by the way? Thanks for cooking breakfast. I'll help you..." she was cut off by a young girl's voice. "Oz..." a blonde hair girl said. "No. Ah here's Amy. Hello, sleepyhead." Handing her a plate of food. Amy was a pretty blonde. She looked untouched by all the violence, Buffy thought to herself. How was it possible? "Hello, I'm Amy. Oz's kid sister. Who are you?" She didn't like how her brother took in pretty girls. This one was different. "Oh, silly me. Amy this is Buffy. She saved my life. Hey, why are you not wearing your cross necklace." Amy was all he had left in this world, after his parents died. "Relax, brother. It's daytime. I'm safe so, I figure..." Now she was in for a lecture. "No, Amy. Please put your necklace on. I love you very much and don't want to lose you to a bunch of bloodthirsty vampires." God, if anything ever happened to her, he would... "Oz, I think you should ease up on the kid. She just woke up." Winking at Amy. Amy knew her brother had finally chosen a girl who was smart. Yet, someone who would stand up to him, when the occasion rose. "Fine, I'll drive you to the library." Amy was safe in the house, when Jenny Calendar appeared. "Oz, I'm here now. You get to school now." Jenny didn't like the blonde haired girl and blew her off. Buffy didn't like this woman one bit at all. Scene: S.H.S Library Her watcher Rupert Giles was a nice man, but a little on the soft side. Why did she want to be put back in high school? Frankly, it was a waste of time. Life was too short to be sitting in a boring class room. "Miss Summers, attending this school will only help you." Wiping the sweat off his brow. Hopefully, she would listen to his advice. "I don't think so. Listen Geeves..." All her life she did what she pleased. That was not going to change any time soon. "Giles" interrupting. She was going to be an infuriating Slayer to deal with. Then Oz came in. "Whoah, you two look intense. Let me guess, I interrupted." Whatever he interrupted was sort of important. "Well, Geeves over here wants me to go to school here in Sunnyhell." Thinking this was going to be fun. Oz smiled. Buffy should stay. He had his reasons, albeit they were selfish ones. "Ease up on her, Giles. Come on, I'll show you around the campus." Remembering how nice the campus had been once. Maybe it would be like that again. Scene: The Courtyard-S.H.S "This is the courtyard, Buffy. Our final stop on the tour." What a quiet place and full of bad memories for him. "Must have been nice to be a student here." She sat down on the bench wondering, maybe if her life would have been different if... "Seems weird, doesn't it." Sitting down besides her. "Yeah, we lived, while the people we love are gone." Tears began to stream down her face. "Please don't cry, Buffy." Tenderly, he wiped off her tears with a handkercheif. "Thanks, I'm sorry for making such a fool of myself." Feeling sorry for herself was something she rarely did. Then Oz and Buffy kissed one another. Xander was sitting on his throne. He missed Willow. Then she came into the warehouse. His eyes were focused on her. "Come here, babe. What's your name?" His request was more like an order. "My name's Drusilla, your lordship." Miss Edith says you need my help to get rid of that nasty slayer. Xander grabbed the girl and gave her a kiss. With this girl, he could destroy the Slayer. The one who killed his Willow. Scene: S.H.S Library "Dusted those three vampires tonight, Geeves." Telling her new watcher proudly. Though this watcher was way too uptight. "Buffy, are you okay?" Oz asked looking at her arm. "Fine. Just hand me an ice pack. My arm is really killing me here." This was going to be a long week. She felt a lot of pain in her arm. She was stupid for letting one of the vampires take advantage of her. Oz liked Buffy a lot and didn't want to see her hurt. She was what he desired and that maybe they could have a future together. "Thanks. Are the vampires just stupid or do they just love to fight." jokingly teasing both of the men in the room. "Buffy, I want you to be here in the library tommorow to practice." Damn the girl's stubborness. He was not going to lose anybody else. His Slayer needed discipline. "Fine, whatever. See you tommorow, Giles." Nonchantly shrugging it off like it was no big deal. Scene: Xander's warehouse "You, stupid, ignorant fool" Slapping the minion who had failed him. "Miss Edith tells me, my lord that she is dangerous. You have to hurt her from the inside. Attack her fast." Smiling at him with her doll in her hand. "Hmmm, I like that idea, Drusilla. You have a sharp, mind that has proven itself to me. Now we just have to find her weakness." Upset that he hadn't found a way to kill that bitch, who killed his Willow. "Don't be upset. The Slayer will bleed." Miss Edith knew her new lover and pet wanted the slayer dead. She wanted the girl who had killed her Spike, to be dead and rotting in hell. Scene: An abandoned factory Drusilla never understood why Xander was watching the nasty slayer on videotape. All the minions were practicing. Drusilla saw how her Xander looked at the mean, nasty slayer. "Kitten, the nasty slayer is very skilled. You take her boyfriend away. Miss Edith says that's how we do it." All she wanted to do was get rid of that nasty slayer. Then she would gain control of this clan with Xander's help. Scene: A classroom in S.H.S Buffy Summers was absolutely bored sitting in a classroom. She felt so stifled. These people were fools. "Hi, you are new. My name's Harmony." the blonde said to her. "Oh, I'm Buffy." An instant dislike was forming for this girl. "So, do you have a boyfriend." Trying to make nice with the new girl, Buffy thought to herself. Maybe this was to make herself look better, but so be it. "Not, yet. I am interested in someone though." Remembering her moments with Oz were just so perfect. "Be careful. Grab a boy if you are interested in him. Nobody lives in this town for long, because of the vampires." Well the girl obviously had some semblance of a brain. "I'll keep that in mind." Wanting to get away from this ditz as soon as possible. Walking into the library, she knew this would be a place where she would be able to come for some quiet time. "Ah, yes, Oz. We do so need to find out..." Giles said being cut off by the sound of his slayer's voice. This would take some time getting used to. "What am I doing tonight Geeves?" Calling him that made her feel much more at ease. "Take a night off, Buffy. You don't get it very often around here." Warning his new girlfriend that tonight was a night meant for fun. Plus he had plans for tonight. "Okay, you two. Please don't lie to me. Tell me what you two were talking about." They were hiding something from her and she didn't like that too much. She always found the truth out one way or another. "As your watcher, it is not important." Lying to her would be easy. Assuming she would accept everything he said to her. "No, Giles. My duty as a slayer is to know things. I don't like it when people, especially my watcher keeps things from me." Her new watcher didn't like her attitude. That was fine, he would jsut have to accept these things. "Tell her, Giles. Buffy has a right to know." Last thing he wanted was to see her upset. "We found Xander's lair. Seems he has found himself a new queen." Vampire queens were dangerous and needed to be stopped. "You didn't think this was important." God, Giles here was going to be tough to work with. Scene:Xander and Drusilla's factory "I want the Bronze back." Slapping the minion who had given him bad news. This was horrible news. He needed to have some control in this town. Ever since the new slayer had come into town, things were never the same again for him. "Miss Edith says to strike very soon at the one she loves." Kissing her new pet on the cheek. Her goals would be accomplished very soon. "What do you suggest?" Asking her for advice. She was his suppport. After all, everything about his new queen was worthy. His perfect match. "Tonight at the Bronze, he will be singing. Miss Edith says to grab him. That mean slayer will be kept busy." Time for the nasty slayer to pay for killing her Spike. Scene: S.H.S Library "Wow, Buffy. You simply are getting better everytime I see you train." Feeling like this day couldn't end. This day was one of the happiest he had in a very long time. "Thanks, Oz." Throwing him a coy smile. He was making her feel wanted and appreciated. Something she hadn't felt in a very long time. "Oz, did you tell Buffy, the good news?" Knowing that Buffy and Oz were getting closer to one another. He was hoping that they would be together for a very long time and heal each other's wounds. God, knew that they had both been through hell. "Tell me, Oz." Happy for whatever news she could get. This town was starting to come alive again. She liked this town. Actually was thinking of staying here and beginning a new life. "Me and the remaining Dingoes are playing at the Bronze tonight." Excited that he and his band would be able to play again. One of the few things that he had been deprived of. Well, no one was going to take this away. "Oz, that's wonderful." Loving the news. She wanted to hear some cool music. Man, had it been that long since that she, Buffy Summers had forgotten what it was like to be a teenager again. Scene: Xander and Drusilla's bedroom "Pet, what is wrong?" Miss Edith had told her that something was bothering her Xander. She didn't like that. "I'm losing this town Drusilla. All because of that damn slayer." Angry that Sunnydale was no longer a paradise for vampires. It was now a pathetic shell of what it was. If the Master was still alive... "Listen to me..." running kisses along her Xander's pale, but beautiful neck. "We must kill the slayer slowly and methodically." Wanting to kill the slayer who had taken her Spike away. Her Spike was everything to her. Although, she had Xander now, though. He was tough and ruthless, yet there was a tender side that nobody ever saw. "How do we kill her?" This slayer was one of the best he had come across. She had staked Willow who was as vicious as they came. "Take a whitecoat and get her to rescue him." Miss Edith always came up with the most wonderful ideas. "Hmm, I like that." Bringing his lips down to hers. He owed Drusilla a day of pleasure. She was going to make an excellent queen. Scene: Bronze "Oz, I'm going to do a quick sweep around the Bronze. I'll be back in time to hear you sing" Thinking that the last thing Oz needed was to have vampires interupt his performance. "Buffy, promise me that you will be careful." Having one hand gently stroke her face. He didn't want to lose the woman he had come to love with all his heart. "I'll be careful." Knowing full well that she was a slayer. Being a slayer was dangerous, yet it was her duty. "Buffy, I love you." Saying the words he desired hearing from her. "Oz, I love you." Knowing that these things were so rare in life, you took any chance you could for love. Then they kissed one another. All she ever wanted was a normal life. Now, that it was within her reach, something was interefering with her happiness. "Okay, you might as well come out." Knowing there was a vampire somewhere in this alley with her. She could feel it. "So, your the slayer that killed my Willow." Xander said growling. "Oh, you must be the loser they call Xander." Smiling at the vampire. "You bitch." Punching her hard. He didn't like to be called a loser. "Hardly. I don't like to be called a bitch." Giving him a roundhouse kick in his face. Meanwhile, back at the Bronze "Hey, Oz where's your girl?" Devon asked his best friend in the whole world. "She went to powder her nose." Lying about where Buffy had actually gone. He missed seeing those eyes of hers and smile of her's. "Then, let's play buddy." Quickly playing the guitar. This felt wonderful. Very soon him and Buffy would have the life they wanted. Back in the alleyway, Buffy and Xander were continuing their displays of bravado. "Slayers are always pathetic. I killed at least two of them." Laughing at the slayer who was on the floor. "Well, I'm not impressed." Kicking him hard in the leg. "Argghh..." Not expecting her to kick him so hard. "Aww, did the poor vampire get hurt." Getting up and landing a fist across his jaw. "You..." cut off by her kicking him in the groin. As Oz and the Dingoes were playing, vampires began to attack the Bronze. "Oz, we got trouble." Devon took out a stake and began to stake some vampires. "Let's go kick some vampire tale." Quickly kicking the vampire who had grabbed on to his leg. As soon, as he staked his first vampire for the night, his stake was knocked out of his hand. "Naughty, naughty." Smiling at the boy. "Drusilla, I'm guessing." Not liking this at all. "Oh Miss Edith and me are going to make sure you die." Holding him tightly in her grasp. Just as she was about to kill him, a door came slamming down. "I don't think so." Buffy was holding an unconcious Xander. "Miss Edith and I say let him go." Worried about her Xander. "You let him go, or I will stake him." Holding the stake close to Xander's heart. "I don't trust you" She's a slayer, don't trust her, Miss Edith whispered. "Likewise. We each have something the other wants." Not liking this situation at all. "You want him, take him." Releasing her hold on the slayer's boyfriend. "Fine." Releasing her hold on Xander. Slowly the vampire and the slayer went to their respective boyfriends. "Don't worry, pet. Mommy, will take care of you." Slowly kissing her Xander and carrying him out of the building. "Oz, please wake up." Trying to get him to look at her. "Buffy..." Seeing her eyes shimmer. Those eyes always made him smile. "Oh, Oz I was so afraid I was going to lose you." Not imagining her life without him. "Do you mean it?" He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. "I love you Oz." Smiling at him. "Buffy, I love you. Will you marry me?" Finally acknowledging the fact that he could not live without her. "Of course I will." Kissing the man she loved. The End.
