Buffy was awakened a few hours later
by a small knock. "Come in."
She said sleepily as she sat up in
the bed. She was surprised to find
Willow beside her, "Buffy, I've been
searching for a way to set this
spell right, I'm so sorry."
Buffy smiled at her, "I know you are,
Will. I'm sorry I yelled at you.
This is just a bit too much. Did
you find something?"
"Yes, I did." Willow's smile broadened and she laughed slightly.
"Well?" Buffy asked anxiously.
"First I have to know, of all of your
choices down there, if you
could have any of them who would
your first choice off the top of
your head be?" Willow asked seriously.
"Angel." Buffy said quickly with no
hesitation. Then she shook her
head sadly, "but we know that can
never be."
"I wanted to make sure you still felt
that way. I found another spell
in all my searching tonight, it's
a binding spell for Angel's soul,
I can get rid of the happiness clause."
Willow said softly.
Buffy stared at her friend with her
mouth wide open for a few moments,
when she found her voice she spoke,
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I had Tara look over it too.
It will work, but I have to know
if it's okay with you if I cast it."
"I think we should check with Angel
about that, don't you? I mean it
took a stupid spell to get him back
here for even a visit, maybe he
doesn't want to be with me forever
anymore." Buffy sighed as she laid
back down.
"Buffy the feelings are there, or
he wouldn't be here, but he has a lot
to lose, we all do if that curse
is ever broken again." Willow
told her sympathetically.
"Will you talk to him first?" Buffy asked.
"I'll go now. You sit tight, this
is going to be okay." Willow assured
her as she left he room.
Buffy sighed as she pulled the covers
up, so much to think about,
Angel, she could have a chance with
Angel. She fell into a fitful sleep
where she dreamed of a wedding, lots
of weddings with the perspective
grooms downstairs. Finally Angel
had came to the church and whisked her
away.
********
Willow walked downstairs quietly.
She found Angel asleep on the floor in
the kitchen away from everyone else.
She nudged him gently, he looked at her
sleepily, "Willow?" He asked quietly.
"Angel, I have to talk to you, follow me."
Angel asked no questions as Willow
led him to the bathroom and told him
the good news. He stood with his
mouth open as if he couldn't speak. He shook his
head and finally found his
voice, "You're sure?" It came out as a croak.
She nodded her head happily. "What do you want to do about it?"
His smile lit up the whole room, "Let's do it, as soon as possible."
"I thought you would say that,
so I didn't tell Buffy, but um...Tara
and I already did the spell. But
we needed a back up to make sure it worked so Tara
put a spell on this stone, if it
turns purple when you hold it, the spell worked if
not, then we start over." She
handed him the stone.
He closed his hand over the stone
and held it, it took a few precious
moments but the stone soon glowed
a lovely shade of purple. He grinned at Willow. She
smiled back, tears of joy on her
lashes. "What are you waiting for? Go to her."
Angel wasted no time, bounding up
the stairs to where Buffy slept. He
quietly tiptoed into the room, and
eased on to the bed beside her, watching her for a
few moments, before he placed a gentle
kiss on her forehead.
She stirred and opened her eyes, smiling
when she saw it was him. "Did
Willow? - " was all she said before
his lips captured hers in a passionate kiss.
She giggled softly when pulled away
to breathe, " I guess that answers
my question." She leaned in and kissed
him again, pulling him closer to her. He
whispered into her ear, "It's okay,
Buffy. We can be together now and forever." She
sighed and whispered back to him,
"I love you."
"I love you too," he said and proceeded
to prove it to her all night
long.
*********
The next morning when she woke Buffy
smiled as she realized whose broad
chest she was lying on. Angel placed
a light kiss on the top of her head. "Are
you ready to go show those guys,
whose woman you really are?"
She laughed then, and it made him
happier then he had been in a long
time. They dressed and, hand in hand,
went down to face the others.
The living room was filled with men,
Spike had even made it back and
was sitting between Oz and Xander
on the couch, Doyle and Riley had the chairs.
Buffy and Angel cautiously entered
the room. "Hello, everybody." Buffy said
hesitantly to the room of men. Giles
had left to do some grocery shopping anything to
get away from this mess.
They all looked at with embarrasment
on thier faces, talking all at
once,
"Buffy, I'm dead, Anya will never let me live this down."
"Willow is gonna kill me.But it's cool."
"Slayer, you know I don't really want you.The thought makes me want to heave."
"Darling, I don't even know you."
"Buffy, I thought we had something, but...."
Buffy held up a hand to stop them all.
She held up her hand that was still
in Angel's hand. "Shh, see this,
this is who I belong with. And while
I'm flattered that any of you have ever had
feelings for me. I love Angel and
this is who I'm going to be with."
Riley stood to go, as he walked
towards Buffy a small smile
on his lips he spoke "I knew all
along you weren't going to be mine
forever. Be happy, Buffy." And with
that said he left.
Xander and Oz decided heavy duty groveling
was their best option and
left to start. Doyle and Spike left
with embarassed looks on their faces.
Buffy and Angel, well they went
back upstairs to celebrate!
