Part 3

*What, exactly, is going on here?!* Buffy was thinking the same thought as Oz about their 'enchanted moment' but simply smiled at Jordy and said, "Well, how about we clean your room."

"AW! Do I haveta!" Jordy groaned.

"Red Power ranger.." Buffy whispered.

Jordy sighed, "But it's sooo boring to clean!"

"We could play the 'clean room' game."

"'Clean room' game? There's no game to cleaning your room! That's just a trick!" Jordy accused.

"That's where you're wrong." Buffy said, and looked around Jordy's room. She found a bicycle helmet and planted it on Jordy's head, "YOU are the red power ranger! And Oz.."

She grabbed Oz's arm, feeling uncomfortable touching him but having no choice, "Oz will be..Mega Wolf! The worst bad guy the power rangers have ever faced! And I'll be Cornelia! The snooty and stuck-up princess the red power ranger must save!"

Jordy grinned, "This sounds fun."

"Oh it is!" Buffy said and crawled onto Jordy's bed, she then wailed, "Oh no! The Mega Wolf has me captive!"

Oz, taking the hint, turned to her on cue, growling, "I will now kill Cornelia! And no one will stop me!"

"I will!" Jordy piped up.

"Who dares!" Mega Wolf Oz shouted.

"Oh! My savior!" Buffy Cornelia cried dramatically.

"I, The Red Power Ranger does! I will save you, Lady Cornelia! Power Ranger super Powers!" Red Power Ranger Jordy shouted and jumped up at Mega Wolf Oz, tackling him to the ground.

Mega Wolf Oz laughed loudly, "You cannot defeat me!"

"Oh save me! Save me! Oh, I broke a nail! And my hair!" Buffy Cornelia cried in horror, and fainted.

Mega Wolf Oz held back laughter at the 'Cornelia' put down and wrestled Red Ranger Jordy, "You are doomed Red Ranger!"

"Only cleaning this abandoned castle jail cell will weaken the beast!" Buffy Cornelia cried to her hero.

"Then that is what I shall do!" Red Ranger Jordy shouted and jumped up.

"My tornado powers will clean this mess in a jiffy!" Red Ranger Jordy shouted and rushed around the room, putting the dirty clothes in the hamper and putting books back on the shelf.

Mega Wolf Oz wailed, weakening. "It's working!" Buffy Cornelia cried, clapping her hands in delight.

Red Ranger Jordy smiled and picked up the feathers from the floor, putting them in the trash.

He put his toys in the toy chest and soon enough the room was clean. Mega Wolf Oz howled and fell to the ground, his tongue hanging from his head. His eyes sealed.

"Ah ha! Mega Wolf is dead!" Red Ranger Jordy laughed triumphantly.

"My hero!" Buffy Cornelia smiled and kissed Red Ranger Jordy's cheek.

"EW!" Jordy squeaked and rubbed at his cheek in horror, "Girl spit!"

Buffy laughed, "Okay, Jordy. Bed now."

Jordy sighed and climbed into bed, "Did I win the game?"

Buffy smirked and pulled the Red Power Ranger from her purse and handed it to Jordy, "Yeah. You did."

Jordy squeezed the toy and smiled, "Can I have a bed time story?"
Buffy looked at Oz, "Okay. How about the three bears."
"I heard that."
"Sleeping beauty."
"Yup."
"Peter Pan."
"Yes,"
"The wolf and The bunny."
"Y...No!" Jordy said wide eyed.

"Well," Buffy started softly, "long ago, there was a bunny who was very sad. She use to be very close friends with Angel the lion but he left and she was lonely."

Oz interjected, "And there was also a Wolf. Who had been friends with a bird named Willow. But she went off to be friends with a dog named Xander."

Buffy grinned, "And the Bunny was looking for a friend. She tried the cat, Cordelia but she wasn't very friendly."

"And the Wolf tried the owl Giles, but he was too boring." Oz added.
"So the bunny was lonely," Buffy whispered.
"And so was the wolf." Oz said softly, looking at Buffy.
"So the Bunny and the Wolf met." Buffy said.
"And they became close friends, because even though it looked like a friendship between them was crazy.." Oz said, pulling closer to Buffy.

"It was better than being alone." Buffy said, releasing a shaky breath.

"And then..the Wolf discovered he wanted to be more, because he realized that the bunny was the most beautiful thing he'd seen since the Willow the bird.."

"And the Bunny felt the same." Buffy said gently.
"So they.." Oz's drew his lips to hers.
"Kissed." Buffy finished on a breath, her lips almost against his.

Jordy snored loudly.

Oz and Buffy turned, wide eyed, to see that Jordy was fast asleep. They both smiled and pulled the covers tightly around him. Buffy kissed his forehead and Oz and her left the room.

"That was good thinking. That little game of yours. You're great with kids." Oz said, trying to drag the conversation as far away from the bedtime story and the almost-kisses up in Jordy's room as they headed down the steps and to the living room.

"I guess. Too bad I'll never have any." Buffy said with a frown. "Why do you say that?"

"Oh come on, Oz! I'm the Slayer! I won't have time for children. And who would I have them with?! Angel can't even produce..you know...Not that he matters, we're done with Oz. I told him after.." She bit her lip.

"After what?" Oz asked interested.

Buffy didn't want to tell him but let the truth spill, "After all that trouble with You and Willow and Xander and everything. I told Angel that we should take a break. I'm thinking a permenant one now."

"Oh, Buffy," Oz said gently, "I don't want to ruin your chances at happiness. You can't use Willow and I as an example of relationship types."

"No, Oz. It's not just you. I'm sick and tired of feeling low because of Angel. I want my life to be a bit happy again. And I don't think I can have a happy life with him." Buffy flopped down onto the couch.

Oz sat next to her, silent.

Buffy glanced at him and avoided a smile.
*Quite. Always so quite. I wonder what goes on in that head of his* "I guess you and I are in a similar predicament. The broken hearts club. I am sorry about You and Willow. I really thought she was over him."

"I didn't." Oz said, staring straight ahead into nothing.

Buffy looked a bit shocked.

"I knew she had a thing for Xander. It was obvious. I have a sixth sense sometimes. I seem to know what people think and feel deep down. It's sort of a gift and curse deal. I guess that's why I'm so quite all the time. I'm thinking things like that out. Wondering why people don't just reach out and take what they want. I guess this all sounds boring to you. You probably think I'm nuts now." Oz said.

"No, I don't." Buffy said honestly, " It makes a lot of sense. What you're saying. Keep talking. Please."

"Anyway, I knew she liked him. More than she could like me. I could see her struggling to be what I wanted. But you can never hide your true nature. She wanted Xander. And that was that. And I love her enough to want her to have what she wants. But like you, I don't want to feel low about it anymore. I want a happy life too. And I guess I'll just have to find it with someone who isn't her."

Buffy touched his shoulder, "You're a good man, Oz."

Oz turned to her, "I hope so. You know, you're not the only one who probably won't have kids. Imagine my situation. 'Okay kids, Daddy's going downstairs now to chain himself to the wall because he's going to turn into a werewolf soon', great home life, huh? I won't win father of the year award."

Buffy smiled, "I think you'd be a great dad." "And I think you'd be a great mom." Oz said. "Well, we'll see. Who knows? Maybe someday, we'll both be happy people with a group of kids." "Like Jordy?" Oz asked.

Buffy let out an exhausted sound and the two of them laughed madly. Buffy grabbed a couch cushion and hit Oz, "And we'll have pillow fights."

Oz grabbed a cushion too, "Yup."

Soon they were pelting each other and Oz managed to knock Buffy over on her back, the cushion flying from her hands.

He dropped his and without another thought kissed her. It was a quick kiss, striking like lighting. They both looked at each other, startled.

Oz scanned her eyes, and when he saw no disgust, kissed her again. Buffy whimpered and wrapped her arms around his neck, forcing his body down onto hers.

Oz grunted slightly as he explored her sweet mouth slowly. The kiss was chemistry packed and they soon found their tongues dueling in passionate urgency.

Buffy's hands were wildly roaming everywhere, in his hair, along his back and sides.

Oz cupped Buffy's soft face and touched strands of her silk hair. They were so engrossed in kissing each other that they bearly heard the clock chime midnight.

Oz pulled away at last, his lips leaving hers but his body didn't. He rested his head against hers, his hot breath rushing along her forehead.

"Oz." Buffy said thickly on a gasp.

They could hear each other's rushed breaths, the only sound in the room until Buffy uttered, "Um...How did THIS happen again?"

"I don't know." Oz whispered, "But it was good."

The front door clicked open and Buffy and Oz pulled away from each other frantically.

Aunt Maureen appeared in the living room with a big smile, "Oz! We're home, how was..OH! You have a little friend over!" Aunt Maureen looked Buffy over and raised an eyebrow, "A GIRL friend."

Buffy smiled sheepishly and held out a hand, "Buffy Summers."

"Hello Buffy, I'm Oz's Aunt Maureen." She said and scanned Buffy.

Oz put his head in his hands. He was never going to hear the end of this one. Aunt Maureen would put him in the hot seat to find out the exact relationship between himself and Buffy.

"I'm glad Oz invited someone over. I hated the idea of him being alone with Jordy. Which reminds me, where is the rascal?"

"In bed. Buffy brought him a Red Power Ranger." Oz said, pulling his head from his hands with a grin.

"Oh really? You shouldn't have! What a sweet girl you are." Aunt Maureen said and looked at Oz and then at Buffy.

Uncle Ken staggered in, "Come on Maureen. It's late and I'm exhausted."

"But Ken, Oz has a little friend here!" Maureen whimpered.
"Maureen, stop being nosey and come to bed!" Ken grunted.

Maureen sighed, "All right, all right. Come on, I'll walk you kids to the door."

Ken stood on the steps that led upstairs and watched as Maureen ushered Oz and Buffy to the door. Thanking them endlessly and asking questions that didn't have to do so much with Jordy as to the relationship between Oz and Buffy.
Ken rushed down the stairs and pushed Maureen into the house, "Go on up to bed, I'll be there in a second. I want to talk to Oz."

Maureen frowned, her senses buzzing with interest over Buffy and Oz, but went into the house and upstairs.

Ken put an arm around Oz's shoulder and said softly into his ear, "Do me a favor. Hold on to that Buffy girl. She looks like a good one to me."

Oz grinned, "I'll try, Uncle Ken."

Uncle Ken gave Oz a hug, "I love you, boy."

"Same here, Uncle Ken."

Uncle Ken shut the door and Oz saw Buffy standing on the sidewalk under a lamp post, looking at him. Oz coughed and walked down to her, "So? You got a ride?"

Buffy nodded, "My mom let me take the car."

Oz nodded, "An opening for disaster."

"Oz," Buffy said, ignoring the attempted joke, "What happened in there?"

"What do you mean?" Oz asked gulping.

"The whole 'Um...How did THIS happen again?' kiss situation. I mean. We kissed!"

"I know. That tends to happen between people sometimes."

"Don't jump around the issue, Oz. You and I, had something in there. We kept making goo-goo eyes in there and almost kissing and then when we DID kiss. Well, " Buffy looked down, "How was it for you?"

Oz smiled, "Do you want me to be honest?"

Buffy nodded, waiting for the ever dreaded 'It was like kissing my sister'.

"It was great."

Buffy perked up.

"That was the best, most heated kiss I've had in..I can't even remember when." Oz admitted, "How about you?"

"It was fireworks, explosions. Everything that good kisses are supposed to be." Buffy whispered.

"Well, then, it seems we have a problem here."

"Yes, I guess we do."

"We enjoy each other's company and we love to kiss each other, what ever shall we do?" Oz asked jokingly.

"I don't know." Buffy answered with a small smile.

Oz sighed, "Look Buffy, joking aside. I like you..alot. You're very beautiful and funny and smart. And one hell of a kisser. But I AM getting over Willow."

"And I'm getting over Angel."

"So maybe we should..wait."

Buffy nodded, her heart feeling low, "I guess you're right. But how long will the bunny have to be alone."

Oz grinned, remembering the story, "She isn't. The wolf is still here. He's still her friend."

Buffy smiled and hugged Oz, "Thanks."

They pulled away slowly and Buffy smiled, "I guess I'll be going. How long do you think we'll have to wait until our broken hearts are mended and we can be..you know...together."

"I don't know" Oz admitted.

Buffy smiled weakly, her heart aching.

*What's wrong with you? Oz has given you all you should need. He's your friend and when your hearts are fixed, maybe you too can have something. You don't want a quick fix do you?* A voice in Buffy's head asked.

*No*, she thought, *But I still want something...*

She sighed and walked towards her car. She looked back at Oz who was headed to his van and suddenly remembered something he had said.

"Wondering why people don't just reach out and take what they want."

Buffy swallowed and found herself running. Running to Oz. When she reached him, he turned around, ready to run to her.

"Buffy." he whispered.

She smiled and said in a soft voice, "Oz."

And then he pulled her to him and they kissed again. Another heart pounding, earth shaking kiss. And they stood there for a while, just kissing under a lamp post.

Sure, a quick fix is never a good thing, but in their case, they were just answering a need they never knew they had. To not alone anymore, and to be happy.

The End :P ~~**~~~

P.S- YES! YES! I know it is sappy! But I REALLY didn't want the usual, 'I still love Angel I can't get over him' and the 'I still love Willow and I can't get over her' ending. I just wanted smoochies and happiness, so sue me!
