I have recently been told of a crash in my town (Naples, FL.) in which
a 30 or so years old was driving
her new 2000 C70 convertible when driving at 11:30pm, was sandwiched by
an 18 wheel semi-truck
and another car. The semi hit her in the front and caused her car to go
more vertical than a car should
be,. The car was vertical enough to deploy the ROPS system and then the
car was struck from behind
while mid air, causing the C70 to land on top of it, but with also enough
impact to set off the WHIPS
seats.
The car was smashed up, but it being a VOLVO the door opened right up and
the woman walked out
unharmed, singing her praises of the volvo that saved her life
