T-5R Headlight wiper/Antenna mast[850][95] mosel -- Thursday, 5 April 2001, at 7:08 p.m.
Well, my front right headlight's wiper motor looks like it just
gave up the ghost on my '95 850 T5R - stuck at a 45 degree angle, while
the other one's
horizontal. Ugly... It stuck once before about 6 months ago but
worked itself out before I gave it any further thought. Anyone have any
advice on the
replacement motor (assuming it's the motor that froze), how much
it is, and the duration of the install?
Also, my antenna mast is broken (antenna only retracts 70% of
the time without my aid). Anyone done this install? I've read this one's
only half an hour to
an hour and fairly easy. Any help, advice, or experience would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are you sure it's the wiper motor and not the retaining nut on the wiper arm working loose?
The antenna mast replacement is easy and instructions are included
with the OEM replacement.

Now I'm not so sure. Last nite I started her up again and the
headlite wiper "reset" it self back to normal upon turning the key. So
the motor's not burned.
Is the retaining nut you speak of behind the plastic shield covering
the arm? Thanks...

For your antenna spray with WD40 or similar spray, wipe dry each
time turn on and off the radio. After 5 or 6 times the antenna should retract
all the
way. If the drive tape has lost some of its cogs the antenna
will not extend to its full height.

My passenger side headlight washer won't move unless I go up to
it and give it a push. You can hear the motor wirring. I was thinking it
was a broken
gear. Could this be just a washer, or nut (besides me being the
nut) or a bad motor?
