Quarter Mile Times???

Quarter Mile Times???[850] Bayard Donaldson -- Wednesday, 12 December 2001, at 12:14 p.m.

Have any of you taken your car to the track? If so what kind of quarter miles did you run (modified or unmodified)?

I believe you can find out interesting info pertaining to this at the TME website.

I have read the information TME gives(14.5), but to me it seems they are refering to the 5-speed transmition and I also want info on the automatic. I realize that the 0-60 are very close (5.8 compared to 5.84) but that doesn't mean the quarter mile is going to be that close. I also want to see what other individuals have been able to run, maybe under different conditions and with different mods.

My best is a 13.83 at 103. That was on slicks and boost peeked at 19psi. Temp was very cool. I would say 50s. The car is also a auto like you asked about.

My best time for my 855R so for is a 14.4@96 mph. That was on street tires with lots of wheel spin and air temps in the low 70's burning 91 octane, that's the highest sold in my area. My mods include a IPD cat back and ecm upgrade. Also a K&N drop in filter, adjusted wastgate and a water/alcohol injection that kicks in at 8 pounds of boost. With some better air and traction I'm confident I could see a 14.1-14.0 ET. I know that at night my car feels quicker in the colder air. But over all not bad times for a station wagon.

One of those TV car shows reported 14.4 at 99 mph for a
98 C70 with manual transmission and 17 (or 18) inch wheels.
Thats the fastest stock number I have seen reported.

i was only able to go to the track once and got 2 runs in. i was only able to get a 15.002 @ 97mph b/c i was not experience at all and have next to no mods.

all i have is a cone filter and a 2.5" exhaust. i plan on turning the boost up on sunday 3 turns and have to wait till springs to run it again in the 1/4 mile. but by then i should have a lot more done to it. i fould some 18's that only weigh like 14lbs each and iw as going to get those too.

i'll repost when i go back to the dyno to get hp gains.
