SC-710 erratic volume & LCD error messages

Thanks to Justin for this stereo tip;
 

To Start, I have the following:

After purchasing my volvo used, I noticed that the volume would drop by itself
(when I played either the radio or CDs).
I would get an error message on the LCD when I tried to play CDs through my Alpine.
I soon found out that this was occuring because the interface cable between my Alpine
CD Changer and the Volvo SC-710 Stereo was bad.

I replace the interface cable and the stereo worked perfectly.
