Observant

Alone she sits, watches and waits,
Not knowing her future, and fearing her fate,
Her destiny calling, but to what expense,
A path unknowing to an end unmet.

Alone she sits, watches and waits,
Her history a burden, one she alone must take,
Broad shoulders she'll need, to carry this weight,
Fact or Fiction? Her mind does debate.

Alone she sits, watches and waits,
As one with the crowd, yet alone on a moor,
With questions unanswered, and a need to fulfill,
Slowly rising to her feet, this path she has chosen to take.

Old School Days

Old nature does return, so timid and shy,
Afraid of the dark, of monsters that hide,
Leering and teasing, reducing to dust,
Grown adult now transformed back to a child.

Remembering the days full of torment,
Teasing and bullying, forced into tears,
Breaks spent hiding in shadows, away from all life,
Avoidance where possible, solitude sought.

Years of mistreatment, cannot be undone,
The pain carried everyday, so near to the surface,
Aloof and distrusting, never understood,
Grasping at straws, merely trying to survive.

Onlooker

This stranger in the room,
Who sits across from you,
Silent watcher, shadow of protection,
Rarely speaks, even when spoken to.

Alone she sits, watching her charge,
Unknown territory for her,
A helping hand only metres away,
Only waiting for the sign.

Tentative moves are made, unsure and afraid,
'Will she see? Does she know?' scattered scared thoughts,
Blindly stepping forward, hoping against hope,
Shadows ever concealing true thought and feeling.

Pain

The walls close further in,
Shutting out all life,
Crushing me from inside,
To scared to run, to hurt to fight.

The darkness holds me captive,
My souls torture is its delight,
I scream and scream to no avail,
My body laying limp at destruction's door,
To tired to keep trying, to keep fighting.

Closer and closer it comes,
My pain increases,
How much more can I take,
How much will I be forced to endure,
Will I deal with what hurts me,
Or will I fade away into oblivion.

Painful Goodbyes

Good-byes pain me, our lives now separated,
Time and distance our enemies,
Fear controls me, scared of your loss,
Protective walls start to rebuild for this event.

No longer will I be able to whisper to you at night,
To hold you against me as you fall into slumber,
See your beautiful face with its morning glow,
Touch your sweet skin in the evening fire.

Forever have you changed my life,
Re-opened my eyes to life, my heart to love,
Give my world I would, to spend eternity with you,
Now praying that you'll remember me, and let me try to love you.

Quest

Souls roaming the world searching,
Hollow words falling on silent ears,
Rough, uncaring hands touching,
Another night, another conquest, and yet left so empty.

Fertile soils that need only care,
A heart that needs only love,
Body strong and willing,
A commitment that cannot be bought.

Time and distance it does span,
To the four corners of the earth,
Loves search does continue,
Cannot be torn apart,

Its quest will be fulfilled.

Rain

So softly it falls,
Bringing peace in the night,
Cleansing the soil,
Giving life to the plants,

Gentle and caring,
Sometimes a torrid downpour,
Permeating the ground,
Evaporating into the atmosphere,

A sudden rush,
Or slowly imparting its gifts,
Constantly refreshing,
As is your love to my heart.

Reality

The cool breeze blows, chilling my skin, Leaving me numb, no longer feeling any pain,
People around me, oblivious to my destruction,
Slowly dissolving, fading into nothingness.

Alone I sit, even when voices surround me,
They don't see how much I miss you,
They don't feel the pain of losing you,
Ignorant they are, only concerned with themselves.

A friendly face catches mine,
Reminding me all is not lost,
Your friendship I still have,
Even if your love I do not.

Relief

Like an oasis to the Sahara desert,
Or the mighty rivers to barren soils,
So your friendship washes over me,
Bringing relief to my parched lands.

Once again inspired to write,
Dreams are now enticed to come,
Welcoming each day with open arms,
And smiling at the start of each night.

An offer of friendship in a time of great need,
A source of fresh inspiration,
Thank you, is all I can say,
And share with the world, the joy that is you.

Reminders

Your voice echoes inside my mind,
Soft, sweet, touching my heart,
Afraid of our future, my fears are so close,
But the tone in your murmuring comforts my soul.

Blue eyes so clear, that see deep within,
No barriers I can erect, no walls to exclude,
My heart given, to you I entrust,
Hurt and pain a possibility, but your love worth the risk.

The touch of your hand, and smile on your face,
Cradle my dreams, supporting my hopes,
My soulmate you are, my better half,
With you I will be, for the rest of my life.

Requests

Demands are made on a heart of stone,
Too many betrayals,
Now the walls exclude,
A frozen body it protects.

Asked to talk about what's wrong,
Talk she wants, like it's something new,
Offered up my soul for hers,
Only to have it trampled on.

"We need to talk" she says,
I smile and shake my head,
"I love you" she says,
My heart breaks anew.

Rights

Words conveyed in ushered tones,
Discreet touches, stolen glances,
Silent understandings, no words need be spoken,
Hidden from the worlds eyes.

Shared time and shared lives,
Fighting against the system that binds us,
Same rights are fought for,
An equal chance, to love and exist.

The truth society does despise,
Forbidding the emergence of reality,
Our dissolvent it does seek,
Not willing to accept how we feel.

Firm we stand, denying their cause,
Refusing to be brushed away, our lives worth more, Some more aggressive, others content to give silent support,
But together we are, united by our family.
