Found this site by accident (No I am not an officer with a map!)It's a cracking site and one which I will return to. Reading your postings it seems that governments are the same the world over, quite happy to send some bugger else to be shot at, but develop amnesia when it comes to recognition and have short arms/deep pockets when paying benefits to men injured on active service. I know it is a naive opinion to have but surely a war ends when the bullets stop flying and not when some twonks of politicians sign a scrap of paper. What difference does it make to the Government, after all this time, as to whether a man served overseas after a certain date or not? It matters to the Guys (and Gals) who were there because until they were sat in a cabin seat of an aircraft on the way home there was always the chance they could be in the hold in a body bag! Maybe if politicians had to sort out their own mess when inadequate diplomacy failed and had to experience the 'crack' and 'thump' of rounds whizzing round their ears they might look differently at service matters. Rant Over.

Keep up the good work

Yours in Fraternity

A Pair of Dogs

Why do you ask 2 dogs xxxxxxx ?

Peninsula Aviation
Expo 2001
There is one thing you can be certain about, our weather at present is unpredictable. Despite the very trying conditions that prevailed, a large crowd of enthusiasts and members of the public attended Tyabb's Peninsula Aviation Expo on November 11. The Expo celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Peninsula Aero Club (PAC) and commemorated Remembrance Day.
The event promoting the airport, was also a fundraiser for the Mornington Peninsula Shire's Rebuilding of East Tirnor' project and for the PAC's efforts to attain a safe all weather runway upgrade.
The name Tyabb, is internationally recognised as the home to a large collection of privately owned vintage aircraft and warbirds. The public were able to view Tyabb's Treasures via, open hangar displays and the extensive flying program. In spite of the challenging conditions, the cornprehensive 6-hour airshow program was run and somewhat incredibly, almost to schedule. Acts included the Southern Knights, Beech 18, Yaks and aVietnarn re-enactment with T-28 Trojans and Birddog. Pip Borrman in his Edge 540, and Guy Bourke in the CAC CA-18 Mustang, concluded the display in typical Tyabb style. PAC intends to continue to run the Tyabb Aviation Expo in future years when the weather is predictably, kinder. The first weekend in March 2003 has been book marked for the next event.
