Hey "the POM"
Good to see that our Aussie Brothers are still with
us. Just sent an e-mail with a picture of a good
friend Ott who was with me at Phan Rang in '68. Hope
you get it. I am currently a member of the Vietnam
Veterans Association of Australia, Victoria
Branch-International. There is one other member here
in the States but he's in Florida and I'm in
California. Can't get much farther. I think I must
also be the only Mexican American in the whole of the
VVAA too. Drop a line when you have time.

Bubby's Response
Hi I recieved your email just before I went to see Bubby, so was able to
take it out to him.
Pommie,
Thanks mate for your kind thoughts and words.
If you wouldn't mind passing on to all the Active, daring and gifted people
on the net My best wishes and g'day to Hicksey and "Hawk Odea". I had an
eight hour Operation on the 17/5/01. I'm at home at the moment trying to eat like a horse!
I lost 12 kilos in 13 days from the operation.
With all this in mind, I am a adgee & a fighter, and without a doubt,
with me and My family's help over the next five years we will beat this cancer.
Best Wishes
Bob "bubby" Mitchell

Anzac Day 2001 Mt Isa Queensland
Hi there Bob,
Thanks for your time on the 'phone last Monday night, and it was interesting talking to you about a number of subjects. Thanks for your assistance in steering me in the right direction re operation of the scanner. So, after eventually finding the time to concentrate on and tackle the problems I was having, I think !!!! that I may have finally grasped the basic concepts that you were instructing me on.
Having said that, I am now going to forward six (6) attachments to this message in the form of Anzac Day 2001 'photos taken in Mount Isa. For the possible benefit of yourself and some of your Adgie mates who may not yet have come further North into "The Leading State" than Amberley RAAF Base, Mount Isa is actually on the Cobb & Co. monthly mail route, part way between Burketown and Brisbane !!!!
And where is Burketown, they are all asking? Well, "Pom", that's somewhere North of Mount Isa.
Hope the 'photos are suitable for your excellent Web Site, and please let me know if I have absorbed your instuctions competently enough. Notations re each attachment are as follows, and I'll catch you sooner than later. All the best for now Bob.

A top bloke in every sense.

Re; Door Gunners Site
Looking forward to recieving more names for our nominal Roll of gunners just bear in mind at this stage , only adgie door gunners please
the POM
You might recall Me
Denny and Kim
These two guys where at a Korean outpost about 3 miles from Phan-Rang,
Nowdays Denny is doing a bit of Radio Work at his own Radio station in the states and wonders if some of us might just happen to recall his face.
Hi Robert,
Here is a photo of Captain Kim and myself taken in 1969 in PhanRang. I was assigned to the Korean White Horse Infantry Division as an advisor/liaison. I came back home in April of 1970. My second language, as you can imagine, is Korean. It's not as good as it used to be, but I can still hold a "nasty" conversation!
I hope that the picture is something that you can use. I have others if you're interested.
Let me know when you get the photo.
Take care.
