Views of Stoneybridge West (Oct-Nov 1999)

`2 & 1/16th mm to the foot', `N'gauge, 1/148th scale modelling. The New station being built for the expanding town of Stoneybridge, the foundations are in place, trackwork & ballasting are almost finished, there are still 15 points to motorise on the West end baseboard, all of the points on the East end board are currently controlled manually with Brass pushrods under the baseboards, three of the East end points will be electrified at a later date for automatic mainline working so I can shunt the down goods yard manually with the mainlines keeping themselves busy automatically. after all we only have one pair of hands and one pair of eyes, I think Running both mainlines and shunting the yard at the same time would be a bit much for one operator to juggle!

View across East end of the Down yard. Another view of the Down yard looking west.
Local goods awaiting the guard at the Up sidings. 25326 backs onto 4TC set in the Up sidings.

Stoneybridge and Stoneybridge West redevelopment scheme

Stoneybridge West has been separated from it's parent layout, the original `Stoneybridge' to be rebuilt and extended as a possible exhibition layout, and as a bit of practice for me before going on to build a `historically correct' working layout of Hamworthy Junction circa 1948 in British N gauge, 1/148th scale.
