Meeting Kick-off
As is customary, today's Den meeting began with the flag ceremony. Daniel's family hosted the meeting, and therefore, Daniel was the Denner. As such, he carried in the U.S. flag and led the group in the pledge of allegiance. John (next week's Denner) carried in the Den 3 flag and led the group in the Cub Scout promise during the closing ceremony.
Wolf Trail Track #4
Knowing Your Home & Community
Today's Learning Activity was introducing Track #4 of the Wolf Trail. The Scouts participated in discussions about what to do when they're home alone, what phone numbers are important to know/have, and other items in the track.
Awarding Progress Beads/Badges
After a hike to the local park and a game of Scouts Vs. Adults Kick-ball, we returned to finish the meeting. With a brief ceremony; Daniel, Scott, and Trevor were each awarded their 1st yellow progress bead and bead-holder for completing Wolf Trail tracks 1 through 3. Due to an oversight by the Den Leader (me...oops!), John was also due his 1st yellow bead but wasn't included in this ceremony...we'll be sure to rectify this at the next meeting (sorry John!).
