The Friends

The Enemies

Author’s Note

This is regarding certain changes I made in order to write this story. First, even though Sailor Moon is set in Tokyo, Japan, this setting seemed inappropriate if I wanted to write the characters my way.

Second, the DIC translation (on which this story is based) is in English. English does not allow for the use of the “chan” suffix to the girls’ names. So that I could use this, I used the Japanese names of the characters as “nicknames” Rei (who is still Japanese) had given them.

Third, in the DIC translation the series is cut off after the episode “Follow the Leader.” After this there is a nothing where just about anything can happen. I let the scouts age a bit for story reasons.

Fourth, Sailors Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune as well as the Sailor Chibi and Sailor Starlights are mentioned for story purposes. One might imagine they all came and left in the year-and-something between “Follow the Leader” and this story. Since I know nothing about them and Saturn and Uranus were probably introduced in the episode after “Follow” I decided not to write them in but the Scouts are aware of their existence.

Fifth, I know Mina and Serena don’t go to the same school but for convenience I wrote Mina as going to Crossroads.

Sixth, I have always imagined Amy to be Catholic. I don’t know why, but she just strikes me that way. Maybe it’s her personality. At any rate, that’s how I wrote her.

Finally, I originally wrote this story during a gloomy week at the beach to entertain my cousins and parents. These poor souls have not experienced Sailor Moon and so the descriptiveness is for them. I left it in because I believe it adds to the story.

In spite of enough transgressions to unsettle any red-blooded moonie, I hope you enjoy. I had to do a lot of arm twisting and I hope it works.
