Ami searched desperately with her free hand for her makeup pen, but could not find it due to the lack of wriggle-room to feel around. However, her fingertips found her way to her mini-computer, and by commanding her computer in her mind, the computer immediately flew into her hands. She remembered how last time she had still be able to employ her powers even though she had not transformed, with enough concentration, she should be able to at least disable Ossify who was now standing in front of her.
SailorMoon
was first to respond to Avarice’s order of not moving - by stepping forward
deliberately, she yelled, “what do you want from her?” She saw him
dragging Ami back one step, and Ami pulling out her mini-computer in the
moment of movement.
All
of the group knew that they would have to distract the two youmas long
enough to let Ami give them instructions as to where to strike, they did
not want to be responsible for anything that might happen to her. They
saw Ami’s vulnerability in that position, still in her civilian clothing,
Ami could do little than analyze, and in one of the youma’s grip, they
had to be especially careful.
Ami strived to draw as little attention to herself as possible, silently thanking SailorMoon’s distraction. First, she fed in the co-ordinates of Ossify to the computer via mental instructions, then she commanded the computer to remain mute and identify the weaknesses of the creature. Without needing to look downwards, she imagined the screen in her mind, after a few seconds she ‘saw’ the blue spots indicating where they would have to strike. She noticed that all of them were in his back, which meant that she was the only one able to access those spots, thus the only one who could attack successfully.
“I said
don’t move!”
“Kill
her then, if that’s what you want.” SailorMars stepped in line with SailorMoon,
they all knew that they dared not kill Ami, something in their movements
showed that they meant her little physical harm.
Avarice
grunted at their response, “Ossify, the amnitrones.”
“What
do you want me to do with them?” Ossify asked without turning away from
the threatening figures of the four girls in senshi uniforms.
“Unleash
them! What do you think? Eat them!” Avarice replied in an irritated voice,
although his command was followed immediately, his anger had caused his
arms to contract, cutting into Ami’s windpipe.
Taking
the opportunity, she leaned forwards pretending to choke while lifting
her leg to give Avarice a hind-kick, pushing him away. She stared
as hundreds of amnitrones appeared out of thin air, crowding the whole
of the Crown Café. Concentrating all her energy, she released an
attack via the computer to magnify her powers. “Mercury IcePike
Penetration!”
The
ice pike quickly penetrated the body of Ossify, through the middle of his
spine. Ossify’s powers lay in speed, thus disabling his limb functions
effectively killed him. Before she could transform into SailorMercury though,
she felt rough arms grab her from behind, pulling her away from the rest
of the crowd. “You are coming with me to meet Lord Takeuchi’s presence.”
Ami
felt the pull of Avarice, dragging her into the unknowns. Last night she
had felt that the end was near and she had worked hard on her computer
to finish some last work. She reached into her pocket to grab hold of a
disk that she had been working on, and tossed it lightly beside the chair
that they had been sitting at. She could see the scene of SailorMoon and
the others fighting the amnitrones fading from her vision, replaced by
a dark porthole quickly closing. With the last morsel of strength she struggled,
hearing was so much easier than speaking, but she needed to tell them the
password. “My father’s occupation!!!” The last she heard from the human
world was…
“Ami!
My God, grab onto her, they are taking her away!” SailorVenus yelled to
SailorJupiter who was standing closest to the fast vanishing porthole.
SailorJupiter
reached out, but was too late, the porthole disappeared as quickly as it
had appeared, with a vacuuming suck, Ami and Avarice had already gone.
Returning to the task at hand, her anger amplified her strong fighting
skills over a million times, extending her leg, and her fists, the amnitrones
simply dropped to the ground without a fight. The others followed her example,
little time was wasted in dispelling those annoying, brainless machines
of the Negaverse with the anger in their hearts.
Once
the amnitrones lay on the floor like a lifeless heap of unwanted metal,
they turned and looked at the pale-faced Motoki. He tried to smile at them,
through the destroyed wreck of what was supposed to be his café
and said softly, “I wish you guys would choose somewhere else to fight,
you’ve destroyed my café innumerable times since I have known you.”
He sat at there and stared at the softly sleeping figure lying defenselessly on the bed, it was hard to believe that she had been one the five responsible for the death of the commander of one of his branches of power. He had chosen not to review the circumstances surrounding the death of Beryl, the self-proclaimed “Queen”. The small, unconscious figure in front of him did not seem even capable of hurting a fly, let alone killing a person with the power of the Negaverse bestowed on her. Therefore, he was all the more convinced that it was the carelessness, stupidity of Beryl that cost her, her life. He kicked himself mentally for thinking about the whole matter when there was so much beauty before him. Lost in thought, he touched her hair and whispered softly “you will be mine” before leaving her bedside and exiting the room, carefully locking the door behind him.
Four
figures came flying into the park, shattering the quiet serenity beside
the lake, and startling a pair of lovers romancing and enjoying the sunshine.
The four figures yelled the name of the pair exhaustedly and excitedly,
and quickly stopping beside them. “Luna, Artemis, something’s gone wrong!”
The
pair immediately broke up from their intimate conversation and stared at
them. “What happened?”
Minako,
acting as the leader of the inner senshi, quickly took command of the conversation
despite the panting that could be heard audibly as she spoke. “They’ve
take Ami, there were two people that suddenly appeared out of nowhere and
took her.”
“Out
of nowhere? Where were you then?” Luna questioned.
Rei
looked down ashamedly, “we were in the Crown Café, it was my fault,
I should have known, I should have felt something. A guy came up to Makoto
and I, inviting us for a drink, I should have known, I mean, I am supposed
to know these things. I introduced him to Minako and Usagi, they shook
hands, and… he must have figured out who we were… by touching us… I… he
was sitting right next to me and I didn’t feel a thing.”
As the
toll of the thought took hold on Rei’s mind, her legs gave way and she
sat heavily onto the park bench beside Luna and Artemis. The others stood
around her uncomfortably, Rei was supposed to be the strong one, the one
who could withstand trials such as these.
Artemis
leapt off the bench suddenly, and exclaimed “well, what are we waiting
for? We have to go back to the Crown Arcade to our control center, we might
be able to track her down in there.”
He was
startled from deep sleep. He could feel eyes on him as he jerked up from
his seat next to the window. A large rough hand reached over to him from
his opposite seat and gently ruffled his hair, “bad dream?”
He nodded, and leaned one
against the coolness of the glass. Buildings swept past them, he could
not identify one from the other. The movement of the train brought his
eyelids to a close again, before so, he fixed his eyes on his father, he
smiled, “I’m alright dad.”
