Lady Takeuchi

Tuesday 6:58pm
“She’s late AGAIN!” said Rei, as they stood at the lobby of the apartment that the Mizuno home was situated. Pacing, she whirled around and face the three girls and Mamoru, “We shouldn’t have suggested that she go home and get changed.”
Artemis bounded away from Minako’s arms to land half on Rei’s shoulders but two paws on her head, “Luna is with her, she won’t be too late.”
“And YOU! Get your furry paws off me, you’ve got cat hair all over you, you know! I don’t want it on my clothes, or my hair, got it?”
Artemis, feelings hurt, immediately returned to Minako’s protection and muttered under his breathe, “Minako, what did she expect a cat to have, feathers?”

“So you are clear on what it is that you are forbidden from doing?”
“Yes ma’am, I am clear on the instructions you have given me. But perhaps I am not the only one that you will have to speak to about this.”
“I have spoken to the Deus and the Ladies, they understand completely - that they must not tell the girls of the future, but only to guide them. You however, may only encourage them, no more.”
“Yes ma’am.” He replied to Dr. Mizuno.

“Guys, I’m so sorry! I know I’m late; my mum bought some sweets home today, and she left some for me. I just had to eat it before I came out. But at least we are not late for Mrs. Mizuno, I’m improving right?” Usagi panted as she ran into the lobby and looked at Luna for confirmation.
“Come on, let’s go.” Mamoru pressed the buzzer up to the Mizuno apartment intercom and waited for the security door to open. Once the door buzzed unlock armed with the translation of the song, the dictionary, and the CD, he held the door opened for the rest of the people to pass through.

    Ding Dong!!
The white wooden door opened, and they all drew breathe in relief that they would not be the only ones eating with Dr. Mizuno, Urawa Ryo was also there! “Urawa-chan, you are here, have you been invited to dinner as well?” Usagi yelled, almost hugging him.
“Err…” he cast nervous glance at Dr. Mizuno and shook his head to their dismay, “no, I was just about to get going. Have a pleasant evening!” He pushed past them and hurriedly entered into the lift that was just about to close and take off.
“Chiba-san, girls, Luna, Artemis, come in, dinner is just about ready.”
The delectable aroma pulled Usagi into the kitchen almost immediately. “Wow, cake, did you bake that?”

Mewagi Mizuno smiled, “yes, I had some spare time on my hands. I hope none of you mind, I forgot to ask and took the liberty of assuming that you would not mind a western dinner of seafood tonight, we are eating prawn cocktail for starters and tuna linguine for main course, the cake is for desert.”
“Sounds delightful.” Chiba-san replied cautiously, while Minako immediately covered Artemis’ mouth in case that he should speak out of excitement.
“Chiba-san, I will take a look at your translation while we have our starters, and then we will talk. We will have dinner afterwards.” Taking the dishes out of the fridge and putting them onto a tray, she led the mouthwatering girls and Mamoru into the dinning room.

Usagi gasped when she saw the several candlesticks on the table, supported by silver candleholders, resting on a piece of laced white table cloth, a medium sized flower arrangement was placed at the middle of the rectangular table, so as to not obstruct their view from each other. The table was otherwise semi-covered by lilac colored petals scattered loosely in the middle, accompanied elegant floral plates that seemed to blend in with the scene, to complete the table were the heavy sets of silver cutlery beside the plates and the wine glasses, its goblets filled with a golden yellow liquid, presumably wine.
Balancing the platter on one hand, she saw Dr Mizuno placing the smaller plates filled with the prawn salad onto the larger plates, at first she didn’t understand, but could only guess that the floral plates were for decorative purposes only. Counting the number of places set and counting heads, she found that there were two extra seats, and couldn’t help but wonder aloud as to why it was so. “Dr Mizuno, you have too many plates out.”
    “I do?”
“You have two extras.” Minako chimed in.
“Ahh… that is the correct number.”
“Are you expecting anyone else?” Mamoru asked
    “No.”
    “Then?”
Dr Mizuno looked past Mamoru and smiled at the two cats resting, standing close to their respective owners’ feet. Placing the empty platter down onto a trolley, she walked towards them and touched the crescent on their foreheads, “It would be impolite for me not to feed these two, wouldn’t it? Not after all that they have done,” she asked Minako and Usagi.  “Unfortunately, I am not accustomed to having cats at my table.” Closing her eyes, a yellow ray began to shine from the cats’ foreheads, and they became their human forms sitting at the floor facing her. “Welcome, Luna, Artemis, take a seat… at the table if you please.”
Stunned, the five took their seats at the table, and placed the napkins where they should go. Artemis and Luna were stunned for different reasons though. Luna, dressed in a thigh length yellow dress that flared outwards, and her dark black curly hair cascading down in the 'Usagi-style', and Artemis, dressed in a tight white skive, long white vest and pants, with his straight white hair dangling towards his crescent shaped pendant; looked at each other in surprise, seemingly communicating, questioning each other's opinion, they seemed to concur in thought and nodded. However, before they were allowed to speak, they were interrupted by Dr. Mizuno. “Shall we eat?” Picking up her fork, she started eating her entrée. The others (Usagi in particular - of course it would be her! ^v^) quickly followed her example.
