I've just finished studying
computer science at the University of
Bonn,
Germany with a master degree. Psychology was my minor subject,
which has some nice links to
human computer interaction (HCI), the area I'm most interested in.
Recently I've finished my
thesis
in this field.
Quite often I can be found at GMD, a leading German research institute in the field of information technology near Bonn. Have a look at my GMD homepage. Or meet me there! Enter GMD at N50°44.920' E7°12.066' and proceed to N50°44.963' E7°12.231', room 418 on the fourth floor of building C5.

| 94 | CAT2: machine translation project | iai, Germany | Work in progress, but an e-mail-based context translation service is available. |
| Goethe-Institut | At the Goethe-Institut in Mannheim, Germany, I did community service for one year, starting in '91 after school. My job was to help the foreign language students with any problems they faced during their stay. Moreover I organized a wide-range program of sparetime activities for the students. |
| iai | In the summer of '94 I worked six week on a machine translation project, using prolog. The iai (Institut für angewandte Informationstechnologie) is based in Saarbrücken, Germany. |
| emnid | Emnid is a well-known German market research institute, based in Bielefeld. I worked there during the first half of '95, doing consumer surveys. |
| YTU | In the summer of '95 I spent six weeks at the Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey. My job was to rewrite the university's homepage, to write several guides to HTML-hypertext and to collect and store www-resources. |
| Klett | In early '96 I worked for the German publisher Klett. I wrote the glossary for a new book for learners of the German language. |
| GMD | Redesigning a departemental
homepage
for GMD, a major German research institute, kept me busy during
the '96 summer break, and I've done occasional homepage mainteance
ever since. Within the COBRA project I wrote my master thesis about HCI aspects of software agents. |
