Dashboard Pizzazz...The Pacer was one of the first cars that took occupant comfort to another level. In it's design, the study of space was used. The large curved sloping windshield flows to the dashboard, giving a feeling of space to all occupants. The dashboard follows the contour of the windshield and by placing the dashboard out from it, gives the driver an added advantage of being surrounded by the controls. Much like an aviation cockpit with all controls within a comfortable reach. This was a new concept for the time in dashboard design. No other car could boast of the increased visibility that a Pacer had with it's panoramic view from all sides. Also, the passenger door was intentionally made four inches larger for ease of front and rear passengers to get in and out.
