When you are walking alone through a junkyard to find parts for your Pacer, it can remind you of being in a cemetery.  With the wind blowing the weeds, and stirring up the dust as you walk between row upon row of vehicles, you can sometimes hear the faint whistling wind through the open doors and broken glass.  It is kind of sad, to see what was once vibrant and useful to be tossed as castaways.  This page is dedicated to those vehicles that gave something of themselves for the betterment of my 1976 Pacer D/L.

This little coupe was sitting out in the middle of AMC Meadow Row with it's dull autumn red paint, with white/black interior and no front passenger fender.

This two tone sand tan coupe with burnished bronze metallic bottom was sitting in the row beside the little red coupe above facing the other direction.  All there...except for the front passenger seat and windshield.  It must have found a new home from the last time I was there, as it appeared to have been just taken out.

The car looks like it met with an untimely death, but in fact had been picked upon by the savage junkyard forklift.  Have not seen many Pacers in 6B, Seaspray Green.  It's black interior with black and white seats must have been quite a looker in it's day.  This one had the same interior as my first Pacer.  Note the missing driver's door, and the remains of a sporty luggage rack.

Medium blue poly, G-9 in color.  Windshield wipers were apparently working when this little one was parked.  Missing one of it's headlights, and front passenger turning signal lens.   Passenger door open with weeds and overgrowth protecting it's interior from invasion.

H-7 or Aztec Copper Poly was one of those Pacer's that you did not see everyday, or at least in our part of the country.  This basic coupe, also sported a white interior with optional full wheel covers.

With a car parked in front of this one, you would not see this '78.  This one has a dent in the drivers front fender near the door, and the rear hatch glass was broken with vines growing through the cargo area.  It boasts of a luggage rack with some pieces missing, white bucket seats and one of only two manual transmissions in the yard.

This yellow 1978 Pacer D/L Woody wagon must have been one classy ride in it's day.  Small dent in the passenger front fender.  Sprung and dented hood  with broken grill and hole through the windshield, all caused by careless yard visitors.  This one was robbed of it's identity with no Vin # plate!

Out of all the Pacers that I found in this yard, this one is my favorite.  It was safely hidden behind an Eagle wagon with the weeds protecting it.  When walking down AMC Meadow Row, you would have missed it as it was located on the side of the hill, tightly tucked between another '78 Pacer and a '63 4dr. Classic.  When I found this little beauty, I thought that my search was over for the correct shaded windshield that I was looking for.  But, unfortunately, I found one small bullet hole through it's glass.  Errrr...I did manage to get a few chrome pieces.  Running out of time, I should have nabbed the Am/Fm stereo cassette that it had, as the next time I was there, it was gone.  Note the 6D and 7C two tone paint, and where it was applied on this vehicle.  Also in the picture if you look closely, is the bi colored pinstripe that divides the colors of paint.

This light blue Pacer wagon was sitting all by itself.  It  is the only other manual transmission Pacer in this yard.  Sad to see the windshield smashed out of this one.  Would have walked by it for all the weeds  guarding it.

The weeds were sort of overtaking and possessing this '78 brown wagon.  Small dent in the driver's front fender, with larger dent in the driver's door.  Note the outside driver's door mirror is gone.  Wiper arms were both still good.
