PACK 188 POPCORN SALES 2002-2003

Hello everyone,

We finished up the store sales this weekend and we'd like to thank everyone for their hard work.  The pack had $5,250 in total sales for the two weekends.  Each scout will be credited with $44 for each hour worked.  This will go toward your total popcorn sales.  Remember, the pack will give each scout a $50 savings bond for each $250 in popcorn sold (including the store sales credit).

Take home sales orders are due to your den leaders no later than Sunday October 27.  Please fill out the small order form that your den leader will give you.  The large order form with your customers' names is yours to keep.  Popcorn will be available for pickup on Saturday November 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Belding’s' house see me for the address.  If you cannot make this time, please call Bill or Christine Belding to arrange for an alternate time.

A note about the prize incentives--All families received a popcorn order form through the mail from Council.  This order form listed many prizes that could be earned for selling a certain amount of popcorn.  Pack 188 decided years ago that the savings bonds were a better incentive and better value to the families than the prizes.  So the pack opts for the cash award, supplements that with pack funds, and buys scouts savings bonds depending on how much popcorn they sell.  This is the first year that Council has mailed these order and prize forms home.  I hope this hasn't caused any confusion or false expectations with the boys. 

There are a number of additional prizes offered by Council and by Trails End. 

- For every $275 sold, a scout will receive a ticket in a drawing for a prize                                                                   (NBA jersey, digital camera, CD player, or lantern)

- For every $500 sold, a scout will receive a $22 camp scholarship credit to a cub scout camp

- Each scout that sells $1,500 or more will be entered in a drawing for a Disney trip.

- Trails End offers prizes for scouts selling $1,000 and $2,000.
