2006 Trail’s End Popcorn Sales
Pack 401
Chairperson: Barb Wehmeyer barbwehmeyer@charter.net mailto:barbwehmeyer@charter.net
Popcorn Sales is the official fundraiser of Cub Scouts. Popcorn is to Cub Scouts like Cookies are to Girl Scouts. Our popcorn fundraiser profits are the primary source of funds for the operation of our pack. The pack makes a 38% profit on all popcorn sales! The funds generated by popcorn sales are used to purchase monthly advancements, awards, etc. These expenses are $300-$400 per month. The funds generated by popcorn sales will dictate what the pack will be able to provide and what the parents will have to provide for the scouts. Our vision is for the pack to be able to provide as much as possible with little additional cost to the pack families. In addition, our Pack recently purchased a Pack Trailer for camping and storage! We hope to replenish our cash account through popcorn profits.
Example of Pack expenses throughout the scout year that are shared by the pack and its families:
Advancements
Awards
Pine Derby Cars
Raingutter Regatta
Space Derby
Blue & Gold Banquet
Selling popcorn benefits our scouts in many ways:
Scouts earn a prize for sales volume.
It generates funds for the pack.
Helps the pack to grow and progress.
Scouts get a real selling experience.
Adult and scout spend quality time together selling.
Good clean competition.
