Blue and Gold Breakfast FEB 19, 2005 9 AM |
What is the Blue & Gold? The Blue & Gold breakfast is a fun filled "major" event coinciding when many boys earn rank and all Dens produce skits or hold ceremonies related to Scouting. The B&G is also where we reach out for support of the Council and District through the 2003 "Friends of Scouting" campaign. Each year, the Baltimore Area Council will spend $115 per Scout to keep the Scouting program alive. While this level of financial support is not as obvious as it should be, there are functions that happen so that Scouting as a whole can survive. There are camp grounds to maintain, property taxes to be paid, training classes and training materials to be created, distributed and warehoused, administrative and legal functions to support and a multitude of other services that all have a degree of dollar cost asociated with them. FOS (Friends of Scouting) is a way that we can offer back the support from the community that keeps this private organization alive. Will you consider supporting us? |

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 2004 Blue and Gold the biggest in Pack History! Our Committee and the parents of our boys made the 2004 B&G another in a long list of events where we showed the enthusiam and dedication that has made Pack 419 one of the best in the District. To stand at the podium and look out onto a virtual ocean of nearly 300 people reinforces in me the belief that Scouting is one of the best organizations with we could ever have the privledge of being associated. Thank you for sharing the committment to these boys that they are special, and are worthy of the time we put forth to keep them involved. - Mr. Paul |
